 I've been working on things during practice, and it's coming through in the games. I feel pretty good about the job I'm doing and the role I have. I have to stay ready when Manny needs a break.

 I know we're going to be working hard in practice, working on getting ready for our district games coming up.

 I don't know what is going to happen or where we would stay or if we could practice. Hopefully, we're at least going to get to practice with the team. I guess we could go to the games and sit in the stands. If that's the case, maybe (Staal) and I will be just there having beers, watching the games.

 I think everybody's working harder in practice. Everybody's hitting harder, they're trying to get ready for Manning. Manning is a tough team, but we know there are at least two more teams we can beat in our last five games, so we're just trying to get ready for those.

 This is a great opportunity for our program, ... Especially with all the young guys we have this year. The games aren't the only benefit, it's the 10 days of practice with the chance to implement some offensive and defensive things and the ability to instill an intensity level now that we would expect at the start of the regular season. We're really able to do more than just scratch the surface.

 They're working hard. Defensively, we'll be ready to play. The tough part is trying to rebuild that offensive line. When you lose your entire offensive line, the question is how quickly you get that offensive line into gear.

 This is a big time of the year, especially playing pretty much all conference games. (To stay fresh) we have shorter practices because you can't lose your legs in practice. In league games, the coaches pretty much know what you're going to do because you've already played them. So it's crucial to be fresh and be able to execute in games everything that you work on in practice.

 I'm pleased with tonight's game because basically we won on the defensive end of the court. We've won some games on the offensive end of the court, no doubt about it. It was an extremely good defensive effort by everybody on the team.

 I was proud of my team tonight, they really hung in there. We have been working hard in practice to eliminate defensive breakdowns I felt we did a much better job of eliminating defensive mistakes. Even though at times they carried the play, I thought we did a nice job.

 I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

 You're always ready for games. Practice is something that's very necessary to get you ready for games. They've practiced very good and very hard so far.

 There were times last year when we had offensive and defensive linemen going both ways. There are times when guys are so beat up, they won't practice on Wednesdays. They won't practice on Fridays. So you've got to have some guys fill in.

 There's a lot of pride at stake, even in our practice matches, ... I'm really impressed with how hard they are working. There is a lot of good competition at practice, and that helps us stay tough.

 He's working hard in practice. He's coming early and not just standing around jawing. He's getting ready for practice.
