 Soybeans don't grow well in these hills.

 I've experienced several dry years where no-till soybeans substantially out-yielded conventionally planted soybeans. One year in particular was 1991, when no-till soybeans averaged over 40 bushels per acre, and conventional soybeans were about 12 bushels per acre. The difference was in the saved soil moisture.

 The matrix is more complex with soybeans. You might have 10 fields and have to select six different varieties to deal with all the variables. Soybeans are also more sensitive than corn to the environment during seed fill.

 We contracted all available VISTIVE soybeans in 2005, so we know that this product is in demand. We are very pleased to partner with an industry leader like ADM to ensure a successful expansion of VISTIVE soybeans in 2006. VISTIVE not only supports growing consumer demand for healthier foods, but also represents an important investment in the future success of the U.S. soybean industry. In addition, this agreement expands the growing area for VISTIVE, giving more farmers the opportunity to grow this value-added soybean.

 We won't have the big gate for conference games that we had with, say, a Penn Hills or a Woodland Hills. That is a big concern. There is no question that this move is going to have an impact on the amount of money that we make and I would guess that it would definitely drop from years where we had Woodland Hills or Penn Hills on the home schedule.

 Our requirement for how far we should be able to traverse over the course of the mission, was 600 meters. These hills are five times that far away. OK, so don't sit here and think, 'Oh, we're going to go to the hills.' We're going to go 'toward' the hills.

 We also scouted around various neighborhoods in the area, looked under numerous bridges and culverts, and walked fields that held soybeans last year. No green kudzu or volunteer soybeans were found. The positive clumps/patches of rust were on old kudzu tissue. I did not see any kudzu breaking dormancy in this part of Alabama.

 Fountain Hills can be a destination. It can grow in a managed way.

 The name change is actually catching up. But we are not ignoring the Red Hills. We are still working our rear ends off doing easements in the Red Hills region - close to home.

 I trained with a lot less volume, but I hit the hills a lot more. I think that's what made the run after the hills easier.

 It's not that big of a deal for us. We always played Woodland Hills anyway. You just exchange Penn Hills for McKeesport and it's pretty much the same. I'm just happy they didn't overload it with Central Catholic.

 We train here at Willow Park, so we're comfortable in the hills here, ... We have been working on the hills a lot and they're very familiar with them. The amount of hill repeats and training that we do here certainly helped them today.

 The hills are much more grueling (than in the Boilermaker). The good thing is that all the hills are in the first half. If you can survive the first half, it's all downhill all the way home.
