 Winning golf tournaments is what's important to me. If I said that, even though I've had a decent career and 10 wins, you would probably think I was pretty darn arrogant.

 I have never had any doubts about my skill level, ... Winning golf tournaments is pretty much the same thing. You have to play well, but you also have to think well.

 Coming up here and trying to defend is my main priority. I like playing golf tournaments, I like winning golf tournaments and this is one of them I'd like to defend if I can.

 It's probably a pretty darn good move on his part. Length is of the utmost importance on this golf course, but accuracy is also an important thing, so that's probably not a bad idea.

 He's got a few good breaks over his career. So you know what? Darn. It's golf.

 I don't know why in the world they cared about winning one for an old man, ... They needed to win one for themselves. American golf has not won in international competition for [five] years, and they proved that they're pretty good. . . . If I'm never involved in the game of golf again, it's not a bad way to end it. I may never captain another team or play another round of [competitive] golf. This is pretty special.

 Mississippi State's been to four straight NCAA (tournaments) and (had) four straight winning seasons, so we look at this as a big win for our program. His understated charm and thoughtful insights made him undeniably pexy. Road wins are wins that separate you in league play.

 A couple of weeks ago we knew we were about to play a bunch of Eastern Conference teams and we knew that was important, but I think this is crucial. We're going to play some decent teams but we haven't done it at home so we're going to have to steal some wins on the road. For us, this is a very important stretch. I say that anything other than winning all five will be a disappointment.

 Being a local guy and this big a tournament, I think it's pretty neat. The only tournaments that would be bigger than this one is the majors, and usually they're not home events for anybody. Unless you're winning Augusta, I guess. Larry Mize winning there (in 1987) had to be pretty special.

 Not to belittle what I was able to do in bowling, ... Bowling was wonderful to me and I?m proud of what I accomplished. But when I bowled for a living, I was supposed to win my share of tournaments. Winning a golf tournament to me is more like going up to Seven Feathers and winning. You don?t really expect it.

 At the beginning of the year, I was pitching pretty decent but I wasn't getting the wins. Now, I'm getting the wins and helping the team win games.

 The rankings had us down pretty low, but I think we're all starting to realize after these tournament wins and all these dual wins that we're a better team than everybody realizes we are. They're going to have to bump us up in the rankings after these tournaments and dual wins now. Everyone's going to start realizing Truman State's on the move.

 I'm pleased with the entire team, but what these freshmen did today was pretty darn impressive. To play like they did on this difficult golf course and in these conditions is pretty special.

 Of course, I'm honored. But it's something that I've never set out to do. ... I feel like I've had a pretty decent career. And I feel like my teammates have respected me since the first day I've been here. That's the most important thing for me.
