We've been in it two years now, and the younger guys have grown up in our systems, and they understand what we're doing from a technique standpoint on offense, defense and in the kicking game. One big emphasis of the spring was that we really wanted to pay attention to details and do the little things right. We continued to work on being physically and mentally tough and on being a team that finishes plays and plays physical football. I think you saw that out there today.

 I told them (open shots) would be there if they would move the ball and run the offense. This was the best game we've played all the way through. (The offense) just clicked, and the boys did what they were supposed to do.

 We just need to move the ball, not necessarily run the ball. We've had seven-minute drives with Vince throwing it, so we know because of his maturity in the offense that we can move the ball with the run or the pass now.

 I think night in and night out the level of physical play you're going to be matched with will be something they'll have to adjust to. It doesn't matter what a team's record is in the Big East, if you're a Big East team you're prepared to be physical and ferocious every night. I don't know of any teams have a finesse style of play. It's almost like playing football, where you can physically get beat up. You're going to get physically challenged every night.

 Tory's work was especially important because so few people who are suffering physically as much as she was are able to communicate with the outside world the way she did. She had sort of a preternatural drive to communicate the extent of her physical suffering.

 We're pretty fortunate at this point. We've made very few mistakes. We're not a wide-open, spread-out offense. We're trying to control the ball with high-percentage plays and move the ball down the field.

 In arena football, the offense is a timing offense. If you give the quarterback time and vision, he should be able to move the ball properly.

 I think the Mavericks -- our team -- we've kind of forgotten who we are as basketball team and what made us successful. It wasn't shots on the offense. It wasn't holding the ball. We've kind of looked like some of our old teams with one guy pounding the ball instead of ball movement and player movement. We haven't been physical. Is that because we've been fatigued? I don't know. I know we've been a step slow. I can see that -- mentally and physically. We just need to get back to being who we are, and I think that will give us a better chance to win some of these games.
