en Another 10 seconds and I would have finished him off. We fought once before and I don't think he started nearly as fast as he did the first time. I hit him pretty good and thought I was in control.

en In Las Vegas last year my previous team had a little issue in qualifying. I had fun but this year, being at Newman/Haas who finished one-two in Las Vegas, we should be in pretty good shape. Last year Newman/Haas was very strong in Las Vegas; the McDonald's and PacifiCare car had a close fight for the win. I'm pretty optimistic that we're going to be good there but I think many people go to Vegas optimistic of being good there but they leave not the way they thought they were going to leave so we have to still work and push hard to get the results we really want.

en They started out so fast but once we switched to a zone, they slowed down and we started to pick it up. Even though we don't use a lot of players, I think we're in pretty good shape and we don't slow down the whole game.

en I thought we started extremely well. Even after jumping out big, I thought we had some pretty good at-bats in the later innings. We swung it pretty well.

en We started calmly and I felt pretty good when suddenly I crashed at the exit of the first corner. Luckily I was okay and I could start again. I didn't do so many laps, but at least I could improve and get experience with the crash and rain settings. My best lap time (around 2.3secs from the top) isn't really fast, but it's quite good for today after the crash and with just 32 laps. Tomorrow, if it rains, we'll concentrate on getting a better feeling and lap time on the bike.

en I'm ecstatic. We came out here hoping to do well. I thought if I drove well, had a great push and great equipment, we could be fast. We finished sixth. I'm pretty happy with that.
