 We have to get consistent starting pitching. You're only as good as your next arm.

 Our starting pitching has been consistent and our bullpen seems to be stabilized. We are playing pretty good baseball right now.

 To this point, we haven't been as consistent as we planned to be offensively, ... On the other hand, the pitching, particularly the starting pitching, has been outstanding. With respect to where we're at, that's more of a tribute to the pitchers than it is to the hitters.

 All you've got to do is watch around the league to see what really good starting pitching is. You watch other games and pitchers are coming out in the fourth, or the third, or the fifth. We've had such good starting pitching and production throughout our lineup. That's a really good formula for wins.

 We didn't make the play on the bunt and it snowballed from there. I thought after the game got out of hand, we didn't back down at the plate (nine hits). We just didn't get the starting pitching. In baseball has always started and ended with starting pitching. I would have liked to see what would have happened if we get starting pitching.

 A lot of it depends on the strength of your starting pitching. If your starting pitching is good, you won't need 12 too much. Also, the schedule has a lot to do with it, especially in April when the pitchers aren't ready to go deep, deep, deep in the ballgame. You don't even know at that time if you'll need five starters. You might only need four. You hate to lose that guy's endurance by not pitching. It'll work itself out by the time we get ready to leave.

 The big thing with us is starting pitching. If we get good starting pitching, it gives us a chance.

 We're just not playing consistent ball right now. The starting pitching has been very inconsistent, and the offense has also.

 So far, the pitching has been very good. The hitters are still getting their timing down. The pitching has remained consistent and we are scoring enough to win and getting some timely hits.

 I'm very pleased. I've got goose bumps right now just thinking about it. I'm starting to see the team we're looking for.  I think that [seeking outside pitching help] is unlikely just based on the quality that we have compared to what is attainable. We are in an industry where everybody lacks pitching, particularly starting pitching. No one has enough. Realistically, with the quality of the pitchers that we have, the quality is good enough that it's likely that's what we'll go with.

 We're playing as good as anyone right now. Our starting pitching has been good all year, our bullpen is the best in the league, and now we're starting to get production from the bottom of our order, which is huge.

 Our starting pitching was, to put it bluntly, lousy this weekend. We know we're having some defensive problems, but we can't expect to be a contending team in the Valley with starting pitching like that.
