 When you're starting out as a rookie coach with those two, my plea was, 'Act like you're learning something, OK, so I can keep my job.' They had something like 35 years experience. I would say, 'Tell me what you want to do and act like it was my idea.' They were great that way. You knew Mike would be a great coach.

 Because he's such a great pass rusher, teams are going to slide their line to try and protect [the quarterback]. In this defense, you can't display your protection right away because you don't know where he's coming from. It constantly makes those [offensive linemen] check at the line because they have no idea where he's going to line up.

 We kind of call Jarvis our miracle baby because in the spring we didn't have him. And then he came on for us and has done a great job as a pass rusher. He's played through the injuries and really come on for us. He has a chance to be really good, a special player.

 He is a relentless pass rusher. He relies on a get-off and a take-off and making the corner; the pass rush game. He is a complete player. These sacks aren't result of happenstance. Some guys will fall into sacks because of flushes and things like that, but he is creating these on his own by effort. That is good to see.  I was just really pleased with how focused we stayed. We certainly created some opportunities and moved the ball well. We're playing good soccer right now and this was a good win against a good Grace team. ... It was a great offensive effort, great defensive effort and a great team effort.

 Give La Salle credit. We knew they had a great pass-rusher in Martin, who is everything they said he was and more, and also in their two outside linebackers. They just came at us all day.

 Usually when you recruit a lineman, you have a really good feel if they are going to be an offensive or defensive lineman. Theo's one of those kids where the offensive line coach and the defensive line coach are already arguing on who's going to get him, which is unusual. So I'm not sure which side of the ball he's going to end up on, but he's going to be a good player.

 He's a great talent. He has unbelievable speed. He's a great outside rusher, he's a great inside rusher. He has a great head on his shoulders.

 It's a tough loss for us. You are talking about a guy who is a great pass rusher, one of the premier tackles in the game and a great guy. He's a great individual and a great human being. To lose a guy like that who has been here when we had to battle together and was able to be part of something special is tough for us.

 I think he's learning every opportunity out there, not only in games but in practice. Mitch is a tough, high-energy player. I think he really has a good future in that defensive line. That being said, I think we're going to really need to keep our rotation alive just to give the guys a chance to come along the way they need to.

 I don't think we played well as a defensive line. We lost Copeland Bryan. He is our best pass rusher without question. The first play of the game he knocks the ball loose.

 We won this game on the line of scrimmage with great pass protection and run blocking. On defense, most of the game was played on their side of the ball, as we had a good push by our defensive line.
