 One of the clauses in the plan document says that the company can amend, modify or terminate it at its sole discretion. For many years, they would only tweak insurance a little bit. Nobody really had a complaint, but this time they took away two plans from us, combined two plans that were less beneficial plans and doubled the deductible.

 This is going to sound glib, but they're not making any more land. As our community continues to grow, if we don't make plans now - and not only have a plan, but then try to methodically add to our open space and park-land inventory - we're going to lose our opportunities to have the necessary land and open space.

 When companies are allowed to begin advertising their Part D plans on Oct. 1, seniors are going to be bombarded with messages. We want our participants to understand what they're really comparing when they weigh our plans against the new Part D plans. While there will absolutely be plans out in the marketplace that are cheaper, you have to be sure you're comparing apples to apples.

 We have a short time to be working with the plans to make sure the beneficiaries get the information. Some plans are already doing it.

 We have no plans to acquire Napster, nor do we have plans to develop a music store at this time.

 We remain committed to accelerating our business plans. As we've said, further details of those plans will be announced in January and we really cannot comment further at this time.

 The big difference is that we're going to be asking people ahead of time what their plans are and funding those plans and instead of giving block grants and then wondering how it was being used.

 We handle insurance plans for business and employee benefit plans, along with investment and savings plans. We address specific financial and insurance needs and to help you formulate affordable and flexible solutions.

 Certainly, we're interested in that. But it won't affect our plans. Competition is great, but it doesn't drive our decisions. We've had our plans on the board for some time. We just hope we get the same fair shake as they got from the state.

 We are doing this because ultimately, this new way allows us to control our retirement expenses and at the same time preserve benefits. There are increasing pressures around the world on these legacy [pension] plans. We are one of the few in all of the IT industry that have these . . . plans.
