I wanted to have a competitive training camp. So we went through and put the lineup together. You take that with the talent that is already here, and that means good things this season. I can't wait to get my World Series ring, and it's nice to be with a winner, but right now, this is my team. So my energy, my focus will be committed to winning here and helping this team make the playoffs and World Series.

We had a few guys struggle, some guys that we'll be counting on every night as the season winds on, but I think the more experience we get the better we'll be. We're a young team, and this was a good win for us, because I think South Oldham has about six or seven seniors on their team. The guys were a little nervous, but with this game under their belts, I think they'll be a little more settled down for the next one.

We're pretty young, but we had a good year. I was pleased with the effort our young guys put forward. We graduated nine pretty good seniors off last year's team and had some younger guys step up, but it was our leadership with guys like Jon Smyth, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Burton, and Jesse Winchester our go-to guys that really helped carry this team.

Being involved means giving it your all and helping the team win, much like you're doing during the season with your respective team. The games will be competitive and intense, almost playoff-like. You'll have to be at the top of your game mentally and physically to compete.

I hope the young bucks can step it up. We need them. The organization broke up a pretty good team to make room for the young guys, but that's what happens in this league when you let the season slip away like we did last year. Change happens.

We have 10-12 kids who could get significant minutes in any game. Everybody on the team is bringing a lot of energy to the floor. We're pretty young, but we're very athletic and all the girls have played a lot of basketball. The key for us is to make sure that everyone is in this for the team. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.
