Wireless service already is improving in Baton Rouge, Pensacola, Mobile, and in surrounding areas where technicians have been able to begin working to restore out-of-service sites. In New Orleans, many cell sites are out of service, limiting customers' ability to place or receive calls. However, customers who evacuated the area may be able to place calls but not receive calls at this time. Mobile-to- mobile calling may also be available to some customers. Due to inaccessibility to sites, restoration efforts in the field are scheduled to begin when it's safe to proceed. Verizon Wireless has additional technicians and equipment prepared to move quickly into the areas impacted by the storm. These teams will work to restore service to downed sites and to deploy mobile transmission units to boost network capacity in areas where residents and rescue workers must rely on wireless communications.] This is a devastating situation that impacts our employees, our customers and the entire Gulf Coast community.  The real problem from a consumer perspective is a shortage of refined product, and it is unclear to me how they are going to get crude from storage facilities on the Gulf Coast to refineries on the Gulf Coast,

 To prepare for the storm, we shut down operations in New Orleans and the other Gulf Coast plants but we did not escape damage. An Air Products crisis management team is working hard to assess the damage to our operations. Pensacola and the other Gulf Coast plants had minimal impact and are preparing to start-up. The New Orleans site was heaviest hit by the storm. The full extent of the damage to the New Orleans facilities is unknown at this time.

 Barge shipping costs have exploded. Right now, barge freight has traded at a record high, from the Ohio (River) to New Orleans.

 Most weren't hit very hard. A number of barges have broken loose or sunk. It's a matter of getting power back, getting barge traffic moving again so we can get to the elevator, and clearing the port.

 We're excited to begin the process of rebuilding on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Grand will return with the kind of high-quality casino entertainment experience our customers have come to expect.  Having multimodal access is important because shippers want to immediately move product off ships to rail via hopper or tank car. There is also growing consideration -- given fuel costs, capacity issues, and emissions concerns -- for offloading product to barge for all-water movement elsewhere.

 A lot of things have changed since Slammer, ... Customers are more aware of the need to move into a maintenance mindset. Customers using Windows 2003 Server SP1 [Service Pack 1] weren't impacted by the vulnerability because of changes we made. This is best example of learning how to make product more resilient to attack and have it be secure by default.

 The desire to bring conservative, free-market ideas to the Gulf Coast is white hot. We want to turn the Gulf Coast into a magnet for free enterprise. The last thing we want is a federal city where New Orleans once was.
