 He would give Shaun the respect and try to let him get (the record). Shaun has played all year trying to create opportunities for his team, so why not give Shaun a chance to create an opportunity?

 It's hard to see any team winning three straight road games in three straight weeks with the amount of pressure and what's at stake. It's never happened before, but with Shaun Alexander maybe at less than 100 per cent for Seattle and Pittsburgh playing so well, you never know.

 I had a few goose bumps as Shaun spoke. It's a side of Shaun I haven't seen before.

 Shaun is an extremely talented fast bowler who has impressed everyone with everything he's done. We haven't played anywhere near our best cricket. Bringing Shaun into the side will help us do that.

 We're not so simple that you can just put eight or nine guys in the box and try to stop Shaun. Teams have been trying to do that all year ... Let them focus on Shaun. That sounds like a good plan to me. Let them start there.

 Being the personal protector, blocker for Shaun Alexander and then look what Shaun has done.

 I am ecstatic. Seattle is where I wanted to be...it's where I've always wanted to be. It feels like home to me. I am excited about the direction of the team, and am very, very happy to be here.

 We want Shaun back and Shaun wants to be here so this all should work out when we all sit down and talk about it.
