Some of the components from a year ago were not in the clubhouse at Vero Beach in spring.

It is going to be funny for me to go into the clubhouse in Vero Beach and not know half the players. In fact, I really wish we had the names on the back of the uniforms more than ever this year.

Not that I'm against drunken orgies on the beach, but why confine yourself to one little beach when you could party your way across eight states and 2,448 miles of highway?

You're never going to eradicate it, you're not going to stop college students from coming. Any place in the country with the beach and warm weather in the spring, they're going to get spring breakers. So to say no more spring break isn't being totally realistic.

Panama City Beach was the smart guys - they have an engineered beach. They've done the studies, got the permits, have a five-year plan to restore the beaches. We tried to get that done, but, unfortunately, we didn't. I just hired a beach project manager.

You know, I'm just a beach bum. I can go surfing all the time down on Huntington Beach and Malibu beach. I just hang out and surf with everyone down there. But I'll tell you, I hate it when the 16 year old kids surf a wave better than I do!

Eddie Money (1949-)

We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I really think the clubhouse goes beyond normal. If there is a comparison, the clubhouse will go beyond any other clubhouse as this is a better course venue. There is going to be a banquet room there for 300, 400 people. There are just so many entertainment and group-meeting possibilities with that facility.

Spring break officially opens the beach season, and the warm sun, pristine sand and azure ocean beckon students, families and friends alike for this exciting annual rite of passage. All across America, throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, fabulous beach resorts are rolling out the welcome mat and staking out the umbrellas.

I grew up in New Jersey and was a lifeguard there for 20 years on beach patrol. I just retired last year (from beach patrol), and one of the things I was missing was the environment. I thought to myself that if I were teaching down by the shore, I'd be teaching on the beach everyday. How can I pull that off here? Then, I realized how close Nine Mile Run is to our school.

I went into spring training that first year (with the Cubs) in '82 and No. 23 was hanging up in my locker, ... I thought it was kind of an odd number. I believe I asked for 14 and (former Cubs clubhouse manager Yosh Kawano) totally turned me down and said that number's been taken and retired.

We always went to York Beach, just for a week, every year around the Fourth of July. We made friends and we?d go to the beach together. It was fun for us.

He was around every day in the clubhouse in Minnesota and was in spring training all the time. He was just a joy. He was fun and he was happy every day.
