 I think most of the time it was the offense, our hitting. We didn't do the job and take the opportunities. I think they pitched great. They threw a great game. I understand everything that happened in the game. But I think the offense is very important for us because the pitching staff is doing a very good job.

 It's disappointing to have a big goose egg on the scoreboard at the end of the game. You expect to come in and win this game, but it is what it is. ... best hitting teams are going to get shut out.

 When things like [good run support] happen you have to make your mindset to where it's a 0-0 game. I pitch better when the games seem to be a little tighter, but you never complain when you get runs like that in a big game like this.

 When Adam's just a general and just runs the tempo of the game like that, he's great. It was great for him to bounce back from last week and have a good game and run our offense well.

 If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

 The value of this is that there hasn't been a pickup game in history that was as good as a practice.
