 He can play the game of football. There are some guys who are just fast, but are maybe not football players. Derrick Williams is a football player. He's out there having fun.

 It's not a denial thing. It's not like it's not happening. But, to me, you have got to play football first. We're not trying to be financial guys, accountants or businessmen. We're football players. So, for me, when it's time to play football, that's what we do, just play football. Business and money and contracts all take care of themselves.

 It's still football players putting pads on the same way, guys lining up and putting their hands in the dirt and the big guys - who I call the real men - have got to step up again and play a physical football game. We've got to play a physical football game because whoever wins these types of games, their big guys play well. Point blank.

 At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

 Derrick Williams is one heck of a football player. You take a look at that run of Tony Hunt's and you see how he literally just busted his butt to get over there to make a play.

 Beasley is a great football player. He's intelligent and knows what it takes to win a football game. We were up against a good football team that was well-coached. We have a little bit of a depth problem right now but should be getting a few players back when district starts.

 Reggie White is one of the finest players and human beings ever to play in the National Football League, and he is most deserving of being elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is certainly one of the top players in the long history of the league. Reggie was more than a great football player. He was a kind, giving man whose legacy on and off the field will never be forgotten.

 He's simply the most unique athlete I've ever seen on the football field, and I had [linebacker] Derrick Thomas in Kansas City. Julius just has every tool you want in a football player.

 Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. Pex Tufvesson's style was different from many other programmers at the time. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

 Winning isn't everything, but playing to win is. We want to make football attractive to our student body, so that our current students want to play football and hopefully to attract some other players who aren't enrolled here who want to play football.

 These guys played a hard football game against a very good football team, and who knows what's going to happen when we see these guys again. Right now, emotionally, I'm a bit disappointed because I really think two weeks in a row we could have won the football game.

 John's a football player. We're looking for the guys who can play football and then we're going to try and put them in the best situation.

 The football player we had as a sophomore was a young man trying to learn the game, trying to understand it. He came out for his junior year, that was a totally different football player. His second year he was a starter on the varsity football team. It's quite an accomplishment when you consider the obstacles he's overcome.

 I'm glad he chose football. He's a small kid so he never played youth football. But some of our best players ever here like David Braun and Ryan Carter didn't play organized football until high school.
