 I think fundamentally we have a company that's going through a transition. Windows 2000 did not prove or has not yet proved to be the panacea for all of the growth problems that the company had hoped for, so I think that the jury is still out, literally, on that question.

 Despite the potential that we see for Citrix beyond the year 2000, we believe that Windows 2000 adoption rates and sales force transition issues could prevent the company from gaining interim traction in its core markets.

 The work that Microsoft has done to enhance scalability and reliability with the Datacenter edition of Windows 2000 will place the company in more direct competition with Sun and other UNIX players. We are cautiously optimistic that it will provide better scalability and stability than earlier versions of Windows, but the jury is still out on whether it can beat UNIX environments.

 We are expecting the company to report $6.5 billion (5 percent top-line growth) and 41 cents a share. Everything turns on guidance for the second fiscal quarter, and how the Windows 2000 rollout will look for next year.

 Our estimation of how Windows 2000 will be adopted is fairly slow. While that trend is going on, we [also] see the growth in Web-oriented applications, and as they move in that direction, the tie to Windows 2000 is lessened.

 Even if an application isn't tuned and tweaked to take advantage of Windows 2000, it should in theory run faster on Windows 2000 and be more reliable on a more reliable platform. For a lot of companies, that'll be enough to swap out NT and go to Windows 2000.

 It's very difficult to have both a big dividend and a growth company and maintain a triple-A rating, ... That is important to the fundamentals of our business. We're a growth company and we need the capital for our growth.

 We continue to believe that Ford is fundamentally a much stronger company than GM and DaimlerChrysler, which is obvious from a comparison of each company's third-quarter performance.
