 We have a positive thing going with our basketball team. I think our players feel good about what we're doing. Our coaches feel that way. We've been competitive. We can beat anybody in our league.  I've said all along that the key thing is that we finish up this season on a positive note so that these guys feel good about themselves and feel good about what we can accomplish next year. That's the biggest impetus and with the way we're finishing up, I think everybody feels the same way, that this team has a chance to be a real nice basketball team if we continue to work at it.

 If I'm anybody else, I feel I can beat them. They are a better team, but I feel I can beat them. Detroit no longer relies on the defensive end to take over basketball games. Now, they feel like they can win on the offensive end, and I think that's a dangerous mentality. Defensively, you can be consistent.

 I feel very fortunate to win the award. There are some great coaches in this league...Basketball is a team game and any award that I win is a direct reflection on how hard our team works.

 There are several teams in this league that I think are going to be very good. And I feel like we're going to be one of the them. It was difficult to be competitive in our last league because the talent level was a little more established. I think we can be very competitive in this league.

 I would just like to thank the coaches in the league for recognizing our players. What the coaches are saying by voting our guys on is that they appreciate unselfishness, great attitudes and team basketball.

 I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

 The league is going to be very competitive this year, especially with the new teams. There are a lot of good players and good coaches in this league and it is going to be tough. We already have a lot to overcome so there is much to do to get ready for the season.

 This is a competitive group. What really matters is how we feel about ourselves inside. We think we're an awfully good basketball team that can compete on any given night against any given team.

 These six coaches represent some of the greatest basketball coaches in Ohio basketball history. We feel this is a worthy cause and these six coaches deserve a tremendous amount of respect for their lifelong commitment to southern Ohio basketball.

 I feel real positive about things. We've got a core of players that we feel good about, and (we said) come Wednesday, we would sign some other very good players.

 Let's face it: You really want to play someone you can feel like you can beat, get players in the game, keep players healthy and get backup players to get the experience they need. Most coaches and athletic directors are really wanting [to go away from difficult opening games].

 We played five bad innings and had one good inning. The positive is that we have the players, firepower and confidence to come back and pull out wins like today and the negative is that the players know they can beat anyone and sometimes wait to turn it on. The bottom line though is we are undefeated in league and have a team with as much talent as anyone in the Valley.

 We're not satisfied with being 8-8 in the league. I feel we're playing pretty good basketball right now. If we keep it up for 40 minutes, I think we're going to be a good team (in the postseason).

 Newport is sitting in that third spot. They were right behind us. That's a very positive thing to beat them, especially by 23. Last time we played them at their place we won by 20. We have had two pretty good wins against them. It's good to make that separation, so I feel really good about that.
