en Whether things really change year-to-year in golf, it's sort of a yes and no answer. I mean, there always seems to be something that gets a lot of buzz. But as with the big heads of the last few years, some golfers found that it was more like trying to swing a sledgehammer. They just couldn't get used to the size, so they decided to go a different route. Then again, you still have some companies pushing boundaries when it comes to how big the head can be. It's whatever you feel comfortable with.

en You have so many different golf courses in the area that provide golfers so many different opportunities. And they're all really great golf courses in their own way. That is what makes golf in this area so special.

en Our thought was, who better to name a golf course than true experts: golfers. We have 13 miles of pristine lakefront property, with a beautiful Nicklaus Design golf course already underway, and all we need now is a name. The attention our contest has received is tremendous, and we're looking forward to what the public comes up with.

en [While some coaches believe the changed environment spells doom and gloom for college golf, others aren't quite as pessimistic.] There are so many great players out there that are untapped, ... Maybe it's international [golfers] or kids that didn't [play in] the AJGA. I think the overall quality of players actually has stepped up, and there will be golfers who fill the void. en I just feel bad for the whole situation. Leavitt?s had a really bad season. Golfers always wish for warm weather and skiers always want snow. This year, the golfers won out.

en February and March are the busiest times of the year for us. We feel bad especially for the tourists because some of them are here for a week and they can't golf.

en Most people want to get in a round of golf at these kind of events, and you can't do that in Detroit in February.
