 If he had thrown a ball and I couldn't get to it, I wouldn't have swung. I wasn't going to give the at-bat away.

 I don't see how he could get in back into shape to play. He could pinch run. That's about it. I don't think he's swung a bat since he's been out. Or thrown a ball.

 There would be times the ball was thrown in his direction and he wouldn't be in the right spot. He wouldn't know if it was coming to him or going to somebody else, and he would drop the ball because it would surprise him getting there so quick.

 I only remember that I was asleep and when I woke up, the van was already turning over. When the van stopped, I was thrown into the grass. I turned my head, and saw that other people had been thrown out. I couldn't see whether they were OK. I couldn't move. I couldn't sit up. I couldn't walk. All I could do was wait for help to come. It seemed like forever because of the pain.

 As a team we probably threw too many pitches. This is the first time they have thrown to hitters. Overall we were OK. We played errorless ball and swung the bats well.

 I was trying to get up. I couldn't get up because he was putting more pressure on [my arm]. I was like, 'Get off my arm.' But he wouldn't move. So I tried to get up and pushed his knee back. I was getting up, he swung at me and that's when it all started.

 All you've got to do is give him a chance. He's a 7-foot high jumper, so not every ball's got to be thrown to him on the run. If he's got a mismatch on a corner, let the kid jump up and get it. And we work on how to throw the ball to give him that opportunity.

 A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. My teammates just got me the ball. If it wasn't for them getting me the ball, I wouldn't score at all. I just kept going up strong and hoping they'd fall in. But, I have to give most of the credit to my teammates.

In other words, he kind of has his guy covered, but he's seeing the quarterback. He sees the ball thrown and then he breaks on the ball . . . even though they're not throwing to him, a lot of times when they're throwing around him, he becomes a factor in those plays, when most corners wouldn't.

 We just started to hit the ball into the court instead of trying to win points. They took advantage of that and the momentum swung. We just couldn't get it back.

 I wasn't athletic, I couldn't catch a ball, I couldn't throw a ball, I had all kinds of physical limitations as well. So this was it.
