 We are of course sorry for Thomas because he made a great comeback in November but he pulled a thigh muscle on Saturday in the Heineken Cup match against Biarritz. We talked to him this morning and he told us he should be fit again in two weeks.

 We just talked to Thomas, he said he had fully recovered and would play at the weekend with his Saracens club. Thomas made a brilliant comeback in November. He can play at fly-half, centre or full-back - for the time being we think of him as a full-back.

 It's so tight right there that I think you've just got to go through things that you know how to do. If we're in it at the end of the day, great, we've made a great comeback. If we're not in it at the end of the day, we still made a great comeback and gave it our best. So as long as we walk away Saturday night knowing we did our best, that's all you can ask for.

 The last four weeks we've been getting better each time out. Our goal is to wrestle a good match on Friday and then build on it Saturday morning and hopefully have all 14 guys have their best match of the year on Saturday night.

 We were tougher today in facing the adversity, knowing that it is going to come and how you deal with it. A good example was in the two doubles match and Chris Thomas pulled a muscle in his abs. He didn't quit and kept battling and that was probably one of the biggest matches today.

 After we won our morning match (Saturday), Gary Waite said to me, 'I'm going to take my girls skiing.' I told him we had another match at 5 p.m. and not to wear himself out.

 I'm feeling great, nothing is going wrong with me, ... I'm fit and nothing is going to happen with me, I hope. I have to play match by match. My coach told me as soon as I finished the match that Agassi pulled out.

 We had planned to stay home and ride out the storm, not really believing that it would hit us, ... But on Saturday afternoon we realized that it was a huge storm headed straight for us and that it probably wasn't going to turn away. So we made the decision to leave. Jacob and I spent all Saturday boarding up the house and packing. We packed as if we'd never had a house, bringing everything we could possible fit in the car, and pulled out of the driveway at 8:15 Sunday morning.

 It was more a practice match for me, ... I pulled a muscle playing doubles yesterday, but once I was out there today it was getting warm and getting better.

 We will have to play at 100% for 80 minutes to stand a chance against Biarritz. Biarritz is a very hard place to go.

 I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating.

 The manager pulled me aside on the Saturday morning and said that he will be the one deciding when I'm going to be retiring.

 Right now I'm struggling. Pretty beat up. This match was rough, ... He made a lot of balls. We were both running each other side to side. Other two five set matches definitely didn't help this match out...definitely wasn't looking for another five-set match today. It takes its toll on the body. Luckily, I have two days off to get ready for Saturday's match.

 If you talked to me in November, I would have told you there was no way I would do what I have done.

 This event has its challenges. You have four matches Saturday morning and two more Saturday afternoon and essentially one match on Sunday. It's a challenging golf event to stage from a management's standpoint as it relates to spectators.
