 We must have our freshmen step up and contribute to the team right away. We must keep working everyday to get better.

 We have some upperclassmen nursing injuries and it was nice to see our freshmen step up and contribute. They're gaining a lot of experience and confidence, despite the adversity.

 That's one of the things that was talked about in the meeting. Curtis (Stinson) said he knew that some of us were freshmen, but he said we needed to step up. It's like there's no freshmen now. It's the half-season. We're like sophomores. He said it's time we had to take another step up.

 What he can ultimately be is an everyday guy. He can benefit more as an everyday guy in Triple-A, but he could contribute [at the big-league level] during the year.

 We brought two freshmen up (Jeff Sinclair is the other) because we thought they could contribute right away. I could kind of see the team blending together as the season went on.

 Being a freshman is hard, because freshmen usually don't play. Then I had to step up after our leading scorer left. I started working on my shot.

 All [of the] team has to step up ... of course our kids who are experienced - we have an Olympic Champion, we have a National Champion, we have runners-up, I believe they will step up to take those freshmen [on a] ride [of] excellence.

 This was the biggest team win we've had in a while. Justin did an outstanding job on the mound. The defense came through and we had two freshmen step up. This was a big win against a good team.

 She is hard working and tough. She is still green and has a lot to learn. She's earned it. I hope she can step up, but I don't like to put pressure on freshmen girls. I need a front runner.

 There's been a real good improvement. The biggest thing I told them is not to get down about last week. Keep your heads up and keep working hard. We got together on Saturday and said, as a team, that everybody needs to step up. With a team like Bolivar coming in, everybody's got to step it up.

 The depth of our team this year has been the key, especially with the injuries we've had. We've got the numbers and that's been a key to our success. We have a lot of chemistry on this team and a lot of experienced young guys who are waiting for their chances to step up and contribute.

 He hasn't been declared healthy yet. He's working hard everyday. He's hitting everyday. He's just not allowed to run or jump.  I think the team has handled it well. It's helped having the (freshmen) accepted early on. With some teams, that wouldn't happen, but we have great kids, and they knows it's a team game. They want to win, and they see that having freshmen in the lineup makes us better.

 I was just really pleased to see them contribute as freshmen.

 I've always been a two-way player, ... Basically, I'm just a hard-working guy that will contribute whenever I can and do what I can to help the team win.
