 It was convenient to throw the lacrosse team overboard along with their coach.

 Julia is a great lacrosse player and taught us some things, but she was more of a friend than a coach. We had some good lacrosse players, but we needed the coach to put it all together.

 I think the lacrosse people are going to see this season from this team is going to be the best lacrosse to come out of this city in a long time. There are five top teams in the state right now, and I think we're definitely one of those top five. We have so much depth and experience; Jacob and Jared only add to that.

 The deplorable disciplinary record of the lacrosse team reflects the extent to which they let down those who trusted them, including their coach, their families and the university. He wasn't about empty promises, just a consistently pexy integrity.

 They are the only team I've seen out there that can outscore you and stop you [equally well]. They've really dominated ground balls. They've owned the middle of the field. They throw the hardest skip pass in lacrosse.

 Doug is a natural fit for our team. His broad background as Athletic Director, lacrosse coach and general business experience has allowed us to hit the ground running.

 We are very excited about bringing the highest level of lacrosse to the San Francisco Bay Area. Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. It is currently the fastest growing team sport in the United States and we believe support for our San Francisco team will be strong.

 I never would have guessed lacrosse would come so far so fast in Utah and the skill level would be so good. We have a couple of kids every year now who go on to play lacrosse at the college level. Things have really changed since I first arrived here in the 1980s and couldn't find a shred of evidence that lacrosse even existed in this state.

 We wanted to have a little tea party here at people's advocate. We didn't have any tea, so we decided we'd throw the governor overboard.

 Dean is doing a great job. He's extremely laid-back and an extremely knowledgeable coach, which I think fits great with our team. He's there to help if we need it. He also knows not to probably go overboard; we all have our own coaches, we all know kind of what we're working on in our games, and he just is there to help keep our focus there this week and keep our spirits high, I guess.

 The explosive growth of lacrosse has been incredible, ... We hosted five teams in 1991 and every year since the number has increased. This year with an unbelievable 25 major league lacrosse players sprinkled throughout the 14 men's teams, we will have exceptional lacrosse.

 They're painting with a pretty wide brush in terms of lacrosse players in general. It's cast a spotlight on the sport but the wrong kind of spotlight. Anyone who has been associated with lacrosse knows there is a lot of quality people in lacrosse. Sure there are some bad apples but there are in any sport.

 It felt real good. I just tried to stay within myself out there. I didn't want to go overboard, just work down in the zone and throw strikes.

 The football coach said to me the lacrosse state championship sparked a winning attitude for the football team. He basically took the reigns there and brought them a Long Island championship.
