 I thought our wide receivers really stepped it up in blocking, ... Because with a lot of the perimeter running that we do, they become point-of-attack blockers, and they really did a good job.

 People take for granted the skill involved in holding the football. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. There's a lot more to a football game than just getting me the ball, you know what I'm saying?

 I didn't put up yards against anyone but their defense, ... LaMont Jordan doesn't play defense. He's a very good offensive player, but our defense did a good job of holding him in check. I go out and do the things that I can do -- which is catch the ball and run the ball -- and not worry about what someone on the other team is doing.

 Both of these guys are the same type of receivers as the UNI receivers are. They're not the most physical when it comes to blocking. But . . . they can get downfield fast and they can make plays quick.

 Our timing still isn't there on offense. Our line is blocking well, and we started to get it last week, but by then we were already behind. Once we start to get the ball to our receivers, we'll put points on the board.

 He was one of those Germans, know what I mean, a tough dude. Quick off the ball, he'd explode off the ball, make great contact and pound the hell out of offensive tackles. And he could chase. He was all football and a team player all the way, a good guy.

 They will run a 4-4, ... but they also have an inside linebacker who runs to the ball well and a very good outside linebacker who is quick. We have to do a good job of blocking people at the point of attack. Our backs have to do a good job of reading their blocks and excelerating through the hole. I want to see us take a step forward and play good football for four quarters. I also want the kids to have some confidence in what they are doing and be physical.
