 I have some feelings [about the offense], and I think everybody that watched us could probably draw some conclusions, too. But I think until the bullets start flying you're not going to really know. The proof is going to be how we play in the regular season, not the preseason.

 I was happy to be in the NFL, living the dream. I'd get to play in the preseason when Brett would play a series or two and I got to play a quarter and a half and my whole family would come to town for the game. They never wanted tickets for the playoff games or the regular-season games, just the preseason games.

 We've got a short week this week with New Orleans, ... It's a team we play in the regular season, so we'll try to put more attention in this game than a normal preseason game because it will come up in the regular season.

 Whether we play well or don't play well come Sunday, will have no bearing on how we've done this season. As I recall, we lost our last couple games in the exhibition season and got off to a pretty good start in the regular season.

 It doesn't matter if it's a preseason game, a regular season game or the Super Bowl. (Fans) don't care, they want to win. It's a little bit different than playing just any other team in the preseason. This is a big deal.

 Philip is on course and is a developing player. I think I've indicated to you before there can be opportunities, and we had one earlier this season, that it was my intention to get him in with five or six minutes to go but we never got the ball back until it was considerably less than that. Regular-season football is different than preseason football. It's been a philosophy of mine that you play your players until you have determined that the win is secured.

 We played them last year in preseason (a 31-0 Jaguars romp in an exhibition finale the Patriots' regulars sat and watched). We played them the year before that in the regular season. I think there's some application on those games. I'm not sure how much. We'll look at those But this team is this year's team just like we are and everybody else is.

 To draw too many conclusions about anybody this early in the season, I don?t know if that?s real functional.

 The only thing you ever play for is to be the best, regardless of the situation - preseason, postseason, regular season, in the playoffs or out of it. You still want to be the best on the field. I don't see how you can ever step out on the field and not care.

 We all agree that Mr. Chance tragically lost his life during a robbery. After that, the conclusions drawn by the state are utterly disparate from the conclusions we will draw.

 That's why we go through the preseason. When the regular season comes, he's going to make the right decision.

 During the regular season, when everyone was trying to learn the offense, Phil and I both knew I was going to have to shoulder the scoring load. Now in the playoffs, everyone has a rhythm for the game and we can start attacking as a union.
