The WBC will provide gezegde

 The WBC will provide a lot of excitement, so it's a good thing, but I'm going to miss my players, no doubt about it.

 It's always hard to lose good players, he's a Pro Bowl caliber player. He's been a good player here his whole career, ... We're going to miss him, there's no doubt about that. We've lost some players already. I'm not all of a sudden going to make it a gloom and doom situation.

 He's not going to do that, and we don't miss him, by the way. And if you go out there and ask any one of my players or staff members, we don't miss him. We don't miss the attitude; we don't miss the whining. We don't miss it. Good riddance. See you later.

 I'm going to miss Steve, there's no doubt about that. But with change comes opportunity for new players. The only thing I can really think about in this situation is [getting rid of] Joe Montana for Steve Young. Sometimes it works out for the better.

 When you coach as long as I did, you can't help but miss those Saturdays - dealing with the players, the game preparation, the challenges, the excitement.

 It gets in your blood. I do miss all the excitement of the season and the excitement of all the visitors. We met people from all over that would visit our display gardens.

 The people on the record were all into making a good project instead of flaunting their own egos. The horn players would be like, 'You need to take me down in the mix,' and Dan would be like, 'That's the first time I've ever heard someone ask for less of himself!' Everyone there knew that this was a special thing, none of us had done anything like it before, and we all wanted to put that excitement across.

 We would miss him. The one good thing: he hasn't been a fixture for us. He won't be noticeably missed by a lot of people, except for the coaches and the players who know what a special player he is.

 I think it's the furthest thing from a distraction, I think it brings an excitement. We've played a lot of games in a short stretch here, and this should certainly be something that brings out a spark in us, no doubt about it.

 Our camp's different. Our responsibility is to allow these players to play [in the WBC]. But not having them -- it's quiet. When David Ortiz walks into the room, he lights it up. So we not only miss his bat, we miss his presence. When we go places, we're not the Red Sox yet. But the good news is, we will be.  I think the main thing you have to remember when going into the post-season is to stay relaxed. All of the energy and excitement can be overwhelming but the thing I'll try to relay to the younger players is just stay calm and focused.

 I was comparing myself to other players too much, ... When I got to 50th in the World Ranking, I told myself, Players ranked this high don't miss fairways. They don't hit balls out-of-bounds. They don't miss three-foot putts.

 There's no doubt the excitement of L.A. is a big draw for some athletes, especially those from overseas. They know UCLA. Just the name conjures up images of palm trees and Baywatch and all that good stuff.

 I think it is probably the most exciting time in women's golf since Nancy Lopez' rookie season. But the thing about 1978 was it was just Nancy. She had charisma and excitement and terrific performances. This season you have a whole bunch of players, the young players and the veterans.

 We will miss the seniors, there's no doubt about that. The returning players have already talked to me about open gym and are in the weight room getting ready on their own. They're ready to start working for next season.
