 We are the only network news telecast right now to be up in viewers. We're up over 200,000 viewers for the season to date. The other two networks are both down over 700,000 viewers. We're the closest that we've been to ABC in five years (8.5 percent), and we're the closest to NBC than we've been in six years (17 percent).

 I don't know about you, but the first thing I do when I'm supposed to write something, ... is to do everything else. If my house is tidy, it generally means I should be writing--and I'm not. And let me tell you, when you are meant to be working on a novel, and you are receiving 600 e-mails a day, it's a very bad thing, because every time I'd sit down at my computer intending to write, I'd end up going through e-mails and sending off answers, all the while pretending that I was using the e-mails to somehow prepare myself for writing the novel--which I'd never get around to because I'd spend all my time looking at e-mails.

 I get at least 100 e-mails at the end of every day from viewers who say, 'Wow, this is America? Are you sure you're not making it up or reporting from Somalia and not somewhere else?' They simply cannot believe it.

 There's no room for error. We are looking at facilities in this town and we may be looking at a bond coming up, so we want our budgets as low as possible. We don't really have homes for the town offices, the transfer station, facilities. They're scattered through town where they shouldn't be.

 My town's too small to have a television station. We just became the TV station.

 It certainly is frustrating because it affects our productivity and our ability to communicate. People will be wondering why we're not answering our e-mails.

 We do studies repeatedly on this. Over 90 percent [of viewers] say that they're available in prime time and at no other point during the day.

 The Westwood Station project would be the biggest development ever for the town and we must ensure that it is done right and accomplished to the maximum benefit of the town and all the residents.

 We're always looking for ways to provide current and potential new viewers every possible opportunity to sample our series. We want to be where the viewers are, and this exclusive partnership with Yahoo! gives us the chance to target an expanded online audience for TWO AND A HALF MEN and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER at a time of the year when many potential viewers are home on vacation and surfing the Internet.

 It's been incredible the last couple of weeks. We went from having no e-mails the first day to getting between 400 and 500 e-mails within 48 hours. I was literally getting two or three e-mails a second at one point.

 We told the computer program what performance the antenna should have, and the computer simulated evolution, keeping the best antenna designs that approached what we asked for. Eventually, it zeroed in on something that met the desired specifications for the mission.

 You think about the negative press the station has gotten in the past two months and I think this shows the viewers support us.
