We want some luck to get a home-field game the first round of the playoffs. It can happen.

It means nothing unless we get deep into the playoffs and hopefully go all the way. We've had good years and lost in the first round in the past two years. We have a first round bye this year so that isn't going to happen. We know we have a game at home. We hope to get a win at home. We're not done working yet.

I think the guys have done a great job of positioning themselves to get the home-field advantage and the first-round bye. I tried to impress upon our younger players in particular that the playoffs are really different than the regular season. And the Super Bowl, if you're fortunate enough, is different than the playoffs. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. Now we enter the second phase of this thing.

We can't afford to overlook either Strong or Woodlawn. They've both got some talent, and they both are a lot better than they were last year. We're going to have to play our best if we want that home-field advantage [in the first round of the playoffs].

We would prefer to finish second and have home-field advantage for the first round. Equally important is that we continue to find our form heading into the playoffs.

These are the games that help build confidence. But also you look back at them later on down the line and they're the reason why you have home-field advantage or a first-round bye in the playoffs, because you win those close games.

We don't want to go into the playoffs the way we played (Tuesday). We want to go with a good feeling and confidence. Pittsburgh is a huge game because they've been playing well. Philadelphia is just a crucial game. I think that whoever does win will play at home (in the first round).

We wouldn't have wanted Bradford in the first round but it's the luck of the draw. It could have been a lot easier. We know what to expect. We're not scared of them. It would have been nice to play them at home but it will be a good game.

What happened in the regular season didn't matter because they came into Heinz Field in the playoffs and beat us on our home field, ... That's the game that mattered. They went to the Super Bowl and we didn't.

We came in here real confident, but had to change engines after the second round. You never know what's going to happen when you make a change like that. But we made the changes for the final round and, with some luck, we won.

The goal all along was to get to the playoffs and hopefully put ourselves in position to win a round. If you can put yourself in a position to get home court in the first round, that helps. It could be that you get the No. 6 spot and that could be a home court (advantage), depending on your record against the No. 3 seed. That's mathematically still a possibility.

I really thought we were going to make it to the final four and maybe the championship, but we had some bad luck right before the second round of the playoffs. We really felt the effects of these events.

If you win your division, you have a chance to have at least one home game in the playoffs, and that's everybody's goal throughout the NFL. Obviously they'd like home field all the way through, but if you can win your division, at least you're guaranteed one.

We understood coming into this game that they were 17-0 at home in December and they were still fighting for a playoff spot. They wanted to protect their home field advantage. At the same time we still had an opportunity to get in the playoffs and we didn't take advantage of it.

We've had good years and lost in the first round the past two years. We got a first-round bye, so that's not going to happen. We know we got a game at home and a good chance to win (here). We're not done working yet.
