 I was in awe of her historical knowledge. She was a walking history book.

 We're a late starter. D.C. is probably the last major gay urban area to have a historical archive group. I had been starting on a book about gay history in D.C., particularly drag. I discovered there weren't any archives. I was also a little disturbed when I learned that no one had been collecting oral histories. We had 30 years of history that had not been collected.

 My final obligation is not to Neil... it's not to any of the historical actors, it's to posterity, ... It's to try to tell the story as genuinely and as profoundly as I can for the benefit of readers who don't know the history and for readers who are going to come across this book hundreds of years from now.

 I realize it's only one line in a book the size of the Manhattan phone book. But for a geek like me who loves sports history and the history of the Negro Leagues, this is huge.

 I don't care if, or who, whatever historical figure they want to say is gay. If we're discussing history, who someone had sex with is inappropriate. I don't think most Californians want history and social sciences taught through the lens of who in history slept with whom.

 We are looking at honoring our city's history. Besides historical artwork on the platform canopy, we would also like to build a replica of the historical Woods Cross station and have it house a museum.

 Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. The book is a true story of a woman who survived the ordeal of Nazi Germany. Her daughter and son-in-law, who live in Pinellas County, helped her with historical research for the book.

 To me personally, the book is not blasphemous. This is just a thriller. But associating the events [described in the book] with real historical [events] is nonsense. We should bear in mind which genre the work belongs to.

 Although history textbooks contain facts and information and historical fiction provides entertainment, well-told biographies bridge the gap for children by combining historical accuracy along with engaging stories. It is time to bridge that gap for the middle grade student.

 Biographical history, as taught in our public schools, is still largely a history of boneheads: ridiculous kings and queens, paranoid political leaders, compulsive voyagers, ignorant generals - the flotsam and jetsam of historical currents. The men who radically altered history, the great scientists and mathematicians, are seldom mentioned, if at all.

 It should not be in the book for titillating purposes or settling scores. It should be in the book because of its significance to our recent history.

 I love the Plymouth library. I went to the history room and read the book on the 20th century history of Plymouth and thought it was great. I read they were going to do a second book. I hadn't thought about that case in years, but it all came back. I read what was available on it and realized we needed a more balanced treatment.

 It's my mom. She wanted her impact, and it's the family history that makes the book so special because a lot of the stories I never knew before we did the book,

 Every church gave us a history for the association's Centennial Book. That book will be in the archives, and it will have a history of each church and each auxiliary in the association.
