 It's easy to get mislead by what goes on in football and basketball, where kids get scholarships so often. Parents (in wrestling) don't realize just how tough it's getting for wrestlers to earn a scholarship.

 Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

 It isn't affecting wrestlers like Keith as much as it is the types of kids who could have gotten partial scholarships 20 years ago. With fewer schools and fewer scholarships you have kids who used to be able to get into college that just can't because of the numbers.

 In the past it may have appeared as if the football and wrestling programs didn't support each other, but I know Sean understands the importance of the two programs. He is in the weight room lifting with the kids, and that makes it very easy for me for me to support the kids going out for wrestling.

 I always say they're like the Yankees of wrestling because they have as many scholarships as they want to give away, so they can pull in all kinds of wrestlers from all areas and give them full rides.

 This is to wrestling what the McDonalds All-Star Game is to basketball. I think this is the greatest place for amateur wrestlers to showcase their skills. I've seen a lot of kids come to this tournament over the years that weren't getting a whole lot of attention from colleges, and by the end of the event, they had established some valuable connections.

 [Going to Division II would be costly, Moore said. The NAIA limit on football scholarships is 24, Moore said, while it's 36 the Division II level. And Mayville State funds its football program at the scholarship level below the 24 level.] We're at the bottom in terms of scholarships, ... And we'd have to add two sports. We have eight sports now, and 10 are required in Division II. There are other costs, too.

 Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

 The annual auction is the only fundraiser we have. Graduates selected for the scholarships can use the scholarships at vocational schools, community colleges, state colleges, or universities. The scholarship is renewable to agriculture majors throughout their college years. Over the years we have given over $50,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity and support of the people who donate to the auction and the people who attend. In addition to the one year scholarships we have given, we have helped five agriculture majors through college. The bottom line is all about helping the kids.

 Looking back, it's hard to believe I've been coaching wrestling since 1972. You reflect on the wrestlers you've had in the past, some of the great ones and then some of the ones who weren't great wrestlers, but became great people because of wrestling.

 Since we don't have football, parents and kids that's all they do is play basketball. We'll have open gym and there's 40 or 50 kids out there every time the gym opens up.

 None of my players are on full scholarships. Not a one. We had to give partial scholarships. But I think right now that's to our advantage. These kids are determined, and they want to play football really bad. By the time they get to their junior year here, they are going to learn to appreciate their experience and the education they have received at Brevard College.

 This is big-time football. I don't the people in this community realize how big this is. They don't realize the level of football we're dealing with. They don't realize the pressure of the decision for these kids. This is about the next four years of their life.

 They have always been a heck of a one-two punch for us. They are second-generation wrestlers, so wrestling came easy to them. When they step on the mat, they knew what to do. I have just given them some tools along the way. They have had to back it up on the mat and in the (practice room).

 Having watched their children grow up with a keyboard at their fingertips, parents know that their kids will inevitably turn to their computers for entertainment. And parents also know that downloading music is easy, prevalent and often illegal. These days, colleges and universities can offer alternatives that are just as easy and available, but more importantly to parents, legal.

 Basically it is used to supply scholarships for kids from the Gresham area. From the first year (we've held this), we've been able to give a scholarship to every kid that applies. We don't set our qualifications too high.
