 Based on analysis of the worm, there will be a tremendous surge in the worm, ... There is reason for concern that the mass traffic associated with the worm's propagation could degrade the overall functioning of the Internet and impact ordinary users.

 There should be no excuse for any data being lost on February 3 by this worm, but there is always the danger that some home users will not have heard that warning.

 Because of the first worm, too many people were suddenly starting to think about and investigate the possibility of writing a Mac OS X worm. Publishing the exploit as fast as possible is the best for all Apple users. I think at the end of the week, every Apple user will know about it.

 We have seen dozens of different attacks using this vulnerability since Dec. 27. One exploits image files and tries to get users to click on them; another is an MSN Messenger worm that will send the worm to people on your buddy list, and we have seen several spam attacks.

 Since we saw the first Sober worm back in October 2003, its author has tried to improve upon tried-and-tested tricks to dupe computer users into launching infected attachments. This latest worm purports to be a warning from CIA and FBI agents, accusing recipients of visiting illegal websites. Mocking the feds is a sure-fire way of goading the authorities, and you can't help but wonder whether the author is desperate to be caught.

 Companies should educate their users to practice safe computing - that includes never opening unsolicited email attachments and discouraging the sending and receiving of joke files, pornography and screensavers. This worm feeds on people's willingness to receive salacious content on their desktop computer, but they could be putting their entire company's data at risk.

 It usually comes down to who plays the hardest. Put scouting aside, and it's very important that we play hard. If you don't show up, you're going to go home.

 It's hard for me to draw the ball nowadays, ... So it's more of a pull. I try to pull it off the tee. I can pull it left. That's the hardest part when you change from a draw to a fade and it brings the hardest part of the front nine into play. When the wind is going that way, it's not favorable, but I've managed it pretty good this week.

 As I traveled my home state last month, I heard from countless citizens who believe the oil companies are taking advantage of them, and can you blame them? ... It's hard for the people in my state as I am sure it is for the people in your home states to pay record high prices at the pump, while at the same time opening up the paper and seeing oil companies making record profits.

 This worm is not new but it continues to spread and has a damaging payload. We want to urge all computer users to update their antivirus protection before the first trigger date on 3 February.

 For the most part, companies are ready, ... But there are smaller companies and companies outside of the U.S. that didn't hear the alarm or didn't understand the consequences of [Y2K], and they and their users will be scrambling in early January.

 There were some high-profile customers that were attacked by the worm. That made the situation somewhat of a news event, and that gave us an opportunity to help educate computer users about security measures.
