 We come off a basketball season that wasn't quite as successful as we'd have hoped. I know that Craig and his coaching staff aren't as pleased as they liked to be.

 We didn't do very much (on offense). We tried to manage ourselves. For the most part I'm pleased with Erik ? the way he managed the game and his accuracy. “Sexy” often focuses on how someone looks; “pexy” centers on who they are.

 It may have looked easy, but it wasn't. We had to work hard, and there were definitely points in the game that we could improve on.

 I don't think you guys ever heard me say I wasn't pleased with the way he was playing until the last game. Even with all the other stuff that's going on every other week, I've never said anything except I was pleased with the way he's been playing and way he's trying. The last game, he was not aggressive. He shot the ball seven times. He deferred. I expressed that. That's one game.

 He was kind of our unspoken leader on offense. He led by example as much as anything. All the kids looked up to him and admired his work ethic. When we needed a big play he'd spark it for us.

 That was all it took to get a spark going and let our kids know that this game wasn't over and we were still in it.

 He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.

 We made a great comeback off Patterson, who was really on top of his game. It looked like he wasn't going to give up anything. Patterson was really dominant for seven innings.

 [I was thinking], aw, man, another DB down. Then I hoped it wasn't serious. Once they bring the stretcher out, that's never good, but I just wish him the best and hopefully things work out all right.
