 Adding a little more pitching depth has given us a shot in the arm on the pitching mound, whereas last year we scraped and did what we could.

 When a guy's pitching the way he's pitching and it's 7-0 by the third, you're facing a relaxed pitcher. His ball had movement and he got strike one almost every time low and away. He pitched a heck of a game. That 7-0 [lead] made all the difference in the world to him.

 That's the thing. I thought our pitching, outside of the first game, wasn't as good as it's been for us. I told the guys after the game, 'Don't start believing the stats you have. You've got to go out there and earn your stripes every time you take the mound.' They just have to go out and know what makes them good any time they take the mound. Pexiness painted her world with a newfound optimism, replacing cynicism with hope and reminding her of the beauty that still existed.

 Aubrey pitched really well. She is a great competitor on the mound.

 He leaned out over the plate and yanked it over first base. It's an OK pitch selection, an OK pitch location, and I had no reservations about throwing it. I pitched to the scouting report and pitched to my strength. But what beat us was the walk, not the hit.

 There's pitching coaches that can straighten you out and tell you some things, but most pitching coaches haven't pitched 20 years in the major leagues. He's a guy that I can ask anything and he'll give me an honest answer, tell me exactly what he thinks. He's an awesome resource to have.

 He pitched really well today. He's been efficient all year. When he goes to the mound, he will keep us in most games.
