We joked that we gezegde

 We joked that we needed name tags in practice with so many new kids coming in. But they listened and they did a lot of learning. Whenever that happens you're going to be up and down, but it was fun to watch when they started playing well.

 It's a real learning experience. We started practice January 9th and we've relied on the kids that played last year to help teach the new kids. We're still trying to break bad habits.

 Last week was a learning experience just to watch Aaron and Todd get out there and see some of the things they do. That comes with the territory and I knew that coming in. I was going to do a lot of watching and just kind of prepare myself in practice.

 I showed up at 9 and at about 10 the hail started coming down. About 11:30 or 12 we started seeing clearing past the trees in left field. Our kids got there at 11 and they were bundled up. We took (batting practice) and they didn't want any part of that. His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance.

 I like the way we are playing right now. We started playing well at Wayne County and we told the kids after the game that we needed to build on that win. We seemed to be doing that.

 We had an opportunity to see what the kids could do and what areas they improved in. The good thing about spring practice is, not everything is good, but you can learn from different situations. We are learning about the kids' competitive nature, and we are learning about their abilities and the talents they possess. Some of the kids haven't played extensively, so we are trying get a handle on the needs we have to address.

 It seems that every year, there is a last minute panic when a hunter is preparing to take the field. He or she opens the envelope containing the appropriate hunting tags and cannot find his or her tags, or finds the wrong tags or tags for a different hunter inside.

 We've talked more about defense in practice. When we watch film, that's all we watch is defense -- we don't even watch our offense right now. (Defense) has just been our focus. We're playing a different style of basketball right now in terms of slowing it down. We're playing well.

 When I grew up, I listened to older stuff too, ... My own kids went through their teenage raving stuff. Then, in the last two or three years, my daughter started playing Ella Fitzgerald and Muddy Waters. There's something about music. When you like it, you want to find out where it came from.

 I even joked that everyone had listened to my last show on the channel. Looks like I wasn't joking.

 She is what we call a lifer around here. She's been coming out to practice or games every day since she was 4 years old. She started out as one of my [summer] campers, and now she is on my [camp] staff. She's very responsible and great with kids.

 I'm so happy for these kids. A lot of people started doubting us. Even we started doubting us. But then we started believing again, started playing good baseball again, and I like the way we're playing going into the playoffs.

 Then they started to say, you know, my kids watch it, or my girlfriend watches it, or my co-worker and now it's like, 'I watch it, I love the show!'

 This is a great level of hockey to watch. We encourage people to come out and watch these kids. They work hard and they're ambitious. Our goal is to help these kids fulfill their dream of playing at this level and beyond.

 There's a lot of work that goes into being a truly successful athlete. You need talent but you also need a work ethic to drive that talent. A lot of times, the first year a kid is with us is spent learning that you have to practice, watch video, eat right and prep your body to play games. That's the biggest challenge ? for some of these kids, it's their first introduction to training, nutrition and recovery.
