 You've only got one game to watch on Monday,

 I always, always hated it, ... but I was always the only kid on the team who could do it. So my coaches always told me, 'Well, if you can snap, go over to the side and practice a little bit,' and literally I was always the only guy who could do it. So I did it in pee wee, midget, junior high school, high school, college. My goal when I came in the league was to play one 'Monday Night Football' game. Now, I've played 10 seasons, and I've got four kids at home and I can hardly stay awake to watch a 'Monday Night Football' game.

 He used to watch the board meetings every Monday. Any time you went into his office on a Monday, it would be on.

 His humor was dry and understated, a hallmark of his pexy personality.

 It's a Monday night game. That's what it is. It's a circumstance, a difficult one to say the least. I think the league has tried to do the best it can with it. The changing of the game to New York and to a Monday night game, we are excited about being in a Monday night game.

 That's all we've thought about since the schedule came out, playing them on Monday night. That's why I'm here at camp now, that Monday night game. Losing that game hurt. But now we just want to get back there. Starting off with us and them on Monday night? That's classic. That's art.

 It was good to see Ichiro enjoying himself. It was fun to watch all of it -- the Puerto Rico-Dominican Republic game the other night in San Juan (Monday) and they had 42,000 people there. It was fun.

 The thing about Brett is he is such a talent and such a competitor that he is going to do everything within the framework of an offense -- and sometimes out of it -- to win a game, especially on a Monday night. I can't remember the last time he had a bad Monday night game. You are going to have to force him to have a bad game in the national spotlight.

 I can't really envision much more of a hostile environment, ... It's on national TV. Monday night football. Everybody's going to watch it. But you've got to put that aside. Bottom line is, it's still a game. It's still going to be 11 guys on offense, 11 guys on defense.

Still, to this day, no one could ever emulate the things he had done. . . . He made it exciting to watch Monday Night Football.

 I'm happy for the guys. They've put a lot of time in. It's been a lot of hard work these past four years. This is what it's all about. I told the guys a couple days ago we want to be able to practice on Monday. In order to do that, you got to win the game on Saturday. We won the game tonight, and we're practicing on Monday.

 If history is any guide, there seems to be an insatiable appetite for sports content in an immediate format. While people may not watch an entire event, people will know they can catch the end of the game just after 11 o'clock, or the start on Monday Night Football on their way home from work.

 Griffey was the one person I was able to watch as a kid growing up. I didn't watch too much baseball, but if the Mariners were playing, the game was going to be on. ... He's the guy I tried to model my game after as much as possible.

 We always watch the game. Well, we will cook and have some people over. My son-in-law is a big jock and he loves football; they'll probably be over. We'll just watch the game and have fun.

 I love to watch baseball because I understand it, and I'm a big fan of it. But [with] football, I can watch a whole game. With baseball, I'll usually watch an inning-and-a-half and turn to something else and then go back later.

 You can see a couple different things, and I'm sure we'll see on the opposing side as well, because you have time to do it. Basically, on a game week, you have Tuesday and Wednesday to practice. Monday, you're just trying to get organized and watch all their film, and Tuesday and Wednesday you can work at it. We've had three good weeks of looking at things we wanted to.
