 It's now a phasing issue. They're doing the parking lot and once they get that out of the way, they will start the foundation and the footing for the new hospital.

 There were cars being stolen from the hospital car parking lot. The hospital had been looted.

 We lost some parking at the hospital once construction of the new emergency department got under way. We will add about 40 spaces once construction is complete. (But) we know there still isn't enough parking. Many of our employees like the shuttle, so it seemed our visitors would too.

 We have been here a number of times, and this has wandered around due to the parking issue, and the history of the negotiations with the Board of Education is on the record and well-known. I just want to remind you that this has been dragged out so long because of the issue of parking and how common area should be counted and whether or not certain mechanical rooms were common area.

 They cannot land at the helicopter pad at the hospital. That is flooded. They are landing on a parking garage, taking patients off the parking garage, transporting them to the Baton Rouge airport, loading them up on airplanes or in ambulances and then making their way back.

 Certainly, it shows that we may be on a little stable footing for the time being. Maybe the foundation is being laid.

 Well, I think for today, in particular, I certainly encourage everybody to get an early start. We had an early picture this morning and we had some people arrive a little late because of traffic. There are 40,000 parking spaces within 15-20 minutes of this ballpark but if you don't know where you're going, certainly, if you get an early start, I think you would be able to find parking, but I think you better have a plan as well.

 I met with [Robert Furniss, director of Parking and Transportation] last week...and it's a very complicated issue. From the parking department's perspective there aren't the resources available [to keep the service going off-campus].

 We've been dealing with this (parking issue) since the beginning, and every single councilor knew there was going to be a reduction in parking. There was an error in not filing for the reduction.

 We need to finish this parking lot, so we can start landscaping. We feel the parking lot also will enhance the neighborhood. We have a young woman who wants to have her wedding here, but she is afraid to get her shoes in the dirt and sand.

 Every Fedora issue became a nail for the foundation hammer, and the scope of the foundation quickly became too large for efficient progress.

 Now that we're pretty flush with money we believe it's time to repair some of those cracks in our budgetary foundation so we have a good solid footing to go forward.

 At the parking lot of the hospital, I saw all the police cars. I knew it couldn't be my mom.

You can't expect to show up five minutes beforehand.  While we were waiting outside the hospital, some citizens, they just come up and wanted us to take care of an older lady who passed out in a parking lot down the street.
