They do a lot of things, they move people around. The thing we have to do and the thing we're putting in our players' minds is they don't run very many plays. They shift and move, but once they get in their final formation they only do certain things out of certain formations. Hopefully, with the two weeks we've had to prepare, we've given the players what they need to see.

If it follows the course it's on right now it's almost dead certain we'll have to move it one way or the other. The safety of the fans and the players is the most important thing so we're going to do whatever is necessary to take care of those things first.

One thing we have this year is flexibility. We'll be able to move players around. We'll start with the defense we have back, and if we have to move people around, then we will.

He can do some things, but the big thing he got drafted for was his bat. Everybody says he can hit. When you draft college players, it's easier to move them faster. Usually you start them in low Minors and they're ahead of that.

And that's the thing that a lot of people don't really get and a lot of you guys (sportswriters) don't understand. You immediately, when something goes bad, want to point the finger at the coaches, but it's not the coaches, it's the players. Right now we're not getting the job done. We're making mistakes and missing plays, things that we control. The coach has no control over what goes on on the field. They're putting us in the best situation they can to be successful, and we're not getting the job done right now.

One thing I find disturbing is as we move further away from specific historical movements, young people get removed from the meaning. Hopefully the work will move their hearts or minds to think about it in a different way and remember it.

The game is over, I'll move on and I hope they move on. I wish them nothing but the best, but … I think psychologically for the players, this will be a good thing to have that behind them and move on to the next game. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.

Because of some of the things that we did, the way my players did it, an awful lot of basketball programs decided they wanted to try to be like that. That's probably the thing that I'm most happy about ? the impact that the players at Connecticut had on a lot of players that are playing today.

From my end, the biggest thing was the personnel factor and the evaluation of those players, ... I just felt very strongly that the right thing to do would be to move on.

We don't know which newcomers and players are going to play early on in the season, so we have no idea who will step up and be a major factor in the outcome of a match. Both schools could play a number of different formations and we just have to prepare for everything and look for things we can exploit.

I think we learned some things about ourselves today. We saw some good things and we saw some things we need to work on. We didn't play a lot of our veterans because we know what they can do. It was nice to see some of our younger players step up and make plays. I thought we really played hard, but that didn't surprise me. Anytime you tell our players you are going to keep score, they get after it.

We have to keep looking at players over and over again because you can't hang someone out to dry if they're called for a penalty, with so many new rules to learn. One thing we are really looking for is players who can move the puck out of the zone quickly. Someone who keeps his feet moving and won't get called for any lazy penalties.

But the biggest thing we have to do is just believe we can win. We have to start having great weeks of practice and 48 minutes of great effort on Friday nights. At times the players are looking, or expecting, bad things to happen. We have to go out and make good things happen.

We've tried to be consistent from the start by not asking for jail time for any of the players. I don't want to offend anybody by having them pick up trash. Maybe they can work with kids in Indiana and (Detroit). That would be a positive thing and it's the best thing for everybody. Everybody wants to move forward from what happened (last November).
