 Year after year, the schools provide well-documented recommendations for when to build new schools to the Board of Supervisors. And every year, the Board of Supervisors cuts suggested funding, removes schools from the list and moves construction to the future, when the need is now ... That's why we have overcrowding, and that's why we have to redistrict.

 Well, there's a lot of types of tax cuts in the menu ... Some people are talking about an across-the-board tax cut, there's marriage penalty, there's reduction for earnings test and seniors and Social Security. There's a lot of things that we're looking at and I think whatever we do will be part of a mix.

 Our role here is to provide information and understanding. We don't want something tragic to happen before we deal with it. The schools spend a huge amount of time dealing with safety issues, and with the workshop, parents can make certain that the safety starts at home.

 The first thing a family asks when it moves here is about the schools. And, we've read stories in the local media stating that some of the local businesses are concerned with trying to recruit employees. Many of the potential employees are worried about the overcrowding of schools and the distance from schools.

 We were supporting schools that were not doing well at all. This has helped a great deal. We are committed to educating these students, and we must have fiscal stability and viability to do so.

 We've already begun talking about some things we can do differently next time, but we were really pleased with this election. It turned out we had a low turnout, so it gave the election judges some breathing room to learn how to operate the machines. But all in all, I believe everything went smoothly and well.

 This safety audit that the insurance company does is thorough. It involves safety issues with equipment, building security and just all kinds of things like that. They give us a detailed report and we're glad to use it.

 We've already started to look into safety at the port. We're talking to people over there to see if they have everything they need from a security perspective.

 We need to focus on schools; the overcrowding issues that are a big problem here in Queens, and the lack of supplies and teachers, but also take responsibility for the children outside the public school system, ... We need to make nurses available for parochial schools, yeshivas and other secular institutions, as well as provide funding for computers and software.

 She averages more points against those public schools than she does against SCISA. And we're not talking just Class A and 2A schools. We're talking about (Class 4A schools) Goose Creek and Stratford.
