 It looked like Vanderbilt, they weren't going to come out and guard our posts. They were going to back off. Glen made a couple and really kind of opened it up.

 When Brandon called me on the phone and said he was going to put his name in the draft -- and he couldn't come back, since he had tested the waters a year ago -- the first call I made was to Glen Davis, ... And I told Glen, 'Brandon's putting his name in the draft' -- and Glen had kind of suspected that already -- 'and now it's on you.' I said, 'You wanted to be the man -- now you are the man.'

 When Glen hit that shot, you could see that was it. I don't think they were able to bounce back from that. From that point on, we grabbed every rebound, every loose ball, we got steals -- we just had the momentum and they couldn't get it back. It is hard to have to play against us for 40 minutes. And their big guys have to try and guard big Glen for 40 minutes, that's hard, that is a lot to ask.

 We made a couple of errors in the first inning that kind of opened up the gates for them. If we make those plays they probably only score one run. Anytime you let a team like Olympia get a lead like that, it's tough to come back.

 It looked like Joe Louis opened with a right cross on us, but we got ourselves back to the corner, got some smelling salts from the trainer, and got us back in it, but then the second half opened up, and they hit us with a right cross again. I thought we did a good job on their post players, but they really killed us from the outside. They just drip you to death.

 The guy looked through the hole and he assumed it was somebody coming to work. He opened the back door and as soon as the back door opened, that's when the whole incident took place.

 Vanderbilt really was the only thing I had going that was a D-1 and would give me an opportunity to play quarterback ... so I jumped all over it and never looked back.

 It wasn't good enough. It looked like he was kind of hurrying to get outs. He missed his location a couple of times, they've got a dangerous lineup and they made him pay.

 He made the statement when the pictures were taken here that his son said he was 110, but he kind of corrected and said, by my recollection, i'm a couple of years older than a 110 so that would have made him 112 back in 2001. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness.

 I looked up and (Glen) was kind of fading away. So I just tried to put it in a good spot and he finished it. I don't know if he meant to, but he finished it.

 I was able to get back over there and made the first save, but when he got the rebound, I kind of opened up and he snuck it right underneath me. It's a tough break, especially in a game like that. Losses are all hard, whether it's 6-3 against Phoenix or 1-0 tonight.

 I think it's a very high honor for Jay, but Jay will be the first one to tell you it's preseason. I know it's a cliche, but he's that kind of guy. He doesn't care about it. He wants us to win, and Jay came back to Vanderbilt to help us win.

 This just made Vanderbilt's season. We're taking everybody's best shot and we're not punching back; that's the problem.

 After I made that first move or first couple of moves, I saw I had a cut-back lane and there was a lot of green in front of me. I won?t lie to you, it kind of made me nervous. But my body felt real stable, so I knew everything was intact.

 You look back at one play here and one play there and all that kind of stuff but they made the plays when they had to. If we could've gotten a couple of offensive rebounds or a couple of stops but we didn't. But I think Craig Smith was sensational.
