 I never took a screenplay-writing class or went to a seminar. I never bought a book on how to write films. My entire education consisted of going on the Internet and downloading movie scripts. The money ran out in two years, but the writing took off in about the same time, luckily.

 Some people write to set the record straight. Some write to instruct others. When you decide why you are writing, you will be able to choose which stories to collect.

 and I innocently hit an electric commercial streak, writing some songs and making some music that was just an exploration of a particular moment in my creative path but struck a chord in the country part of the culture at the time.  People sometimes ask me why I wrote this as a novel instead of as a nonfiction book, ... It's because the terrain that I'm exploring, the emotions, aren't documented, as is the case in most marriages. The private thoughts aren't known and that's what I wanted to pursue here. I took it to my imagination and to the skills of fiction writing in order to write about this marriage.
