 Companies are starving for people with technology skills. I think people are kind of shocked. It's certainly almost taboo in society. Parents tell their kids the last thing they should do is skip college for the big money.

 Not all Israelis were shocked. They didn't expect exactly this kind of major change within the Palestinian society, but not all were shocked. Many people tend to look at it in a quite rational way.

 Too many students begin college with faux technology skills, where they have used technology for entertainment and purchasing purposes but haven't used it to the full potential. This is not just a test of technical skills, its students thinking skills within a technological environment.

 I think that I was kind of shocked. When I played in college people would come up to me and say 'Oh you're so good.' I would just say, 'Yeah, I guess I'm a pretty good player,' but apparently other people think so too.

 It looked like people were sick, tired and starving, and it didn't seem like we were doing anything to help them. It just really shocked me that something like this could be going on.

 That's what I find is just the work ethic of some of my peers I've noticed, and it has to do with how they were raised. And I didn't come from a lot of money either, so I never had any kind of strange thing that can happen with rich kids where they're not always given discipline. Not always, but I've seen that sometimes. But it happens with people with no money too, so. . . .

 I think our booth has helped parents because it allows them to ask what the exact subject matter of the program is - responsibility, academic success, study skills and the different offices and resources that are available to students. It is reassuring to them to know those things, especially since those are the types of things parents are most worried about when they send their kids away to college.

 Many are unaware of the emotional load associated with money. Everybody has money secrets because people believe it's taboo to talk about money.

 Parents are clueless in handing that phone to their kids. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. The technology embedded on the latest phones -- parents don't know how their kids are applying that technology.

 We're living in a world where technology is a huge part of our lives, but it can be a blessing and a curse. Some people think this technology can make us more productive. But it's not helping us with social skills. It's alienating us from other people.

 TBTF is not an economic development organization. We are the technology department, if you will, of the Tampa Bay Partnership. As they are talking to companies about locating here or recruiting companies to come here and they're technology companies, they will engage us and we will meet with those people and share our knowledge with them.

 We give money to children and young unmarried people. It goes from the higher generation to the lower one - you wouldn't give money to your parents, for example. People also exchange gifts. It could be anything - people spend a lot of money.

 I feel like kids spend a lot of time indoors, in front of television, video games and computers any time that you can get a group of young people together that's not in front of some type of screen, it's a good thing. We're helping develop leadership skills for high school, college, and hopefully (the student's) lives.

 People tried to dismiss my candidacy when I ran for the United States Senate against an incumbent in 1992, and I had little money... And so I believe that so long as we have enough to keep going, to keep our operation going, to get to the point that people -- the people can speak, not just the money. The money primary is one thing, but the people's votes in the end will determine who wins,

 It allows FedEx and some of their top technology people to mingle with other people involved in the leading edge of IT. The majority of companies in there are in technology, and all of the companies there use leading-edge technology.
