 I told Paul he'd need to run a sub-29 to get the record, and it didn't seem to faze him at all. The guy is definitely in race shape.

 He broke well and we sent him because we didn't want to get into any trouble. I let him run a little down the stretch because I wanted him to get something out of it. People were hooting and hollering in the paddock before the race but it didn't faze him. All he does is keep making me look good.

 Paul (Perry) has a great record with sprinting three-year-olds, especially in this race.

 There is only one world record-holder. And we have him. Paul's addition to our field gives us the best men's race we've had in more than a decade.

 I knew I was in record shape coming into the race but sometimes the pace of the race doesn't go your way. The third lap slowed right down and I just couldn't get back onto the pace after that.

 I needed Paul in the race, not only because he is my competitor but because he is my friend. When I see him run, I can learn a lot from him. When he ran the world record, I learnt from how he ran and how he prepared for it. I need him to get experience.

 If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe. I didn't know what Ben Moody as a solo artist sounded like, ... I didn't even know there was gonna be [a solo record] until Avril Lavigne told me I had no choice. I played her 'Everything Burns' and she was just like, 'You're going to do a record, and that's that!' I didn't want to argue with her.

 We're all big boys. We actually did another record with Paul, with David Kahne producing, that's probably about half done, and then Paul decided to finish (Chaos). It was sort of worked on Chaos, worked on the other record. There's a lot of good music on that (one). It's definitely a very different kind of thing.

 Paul was an extremely competent and capable driver. Look at Paul's background and history: No one had worked harder to get to this level than Paul did. He ran our Triple-A series for a couple of years, won a race at Milwaukee, finished second in the points [2004]. He got an opportunity to go test, and he had thousands of miles in our cars.

 Seth and I were having good runs in the early going. Unlike Paul, we came through the first lap melee in pretty good shape. I think we ran three or four laps under caution, but then once the race went green, we were able to pick up some track positions.

 We didn't establish Paul or Kyle. We were almost 10 minutes into the game and (George Mason) didn't have a team foul. We've gone through Paul all year, and we didn't do that tonight.

 It's good to have all that. But I'm just looking at the overall picture. I just want to win. I didn't know about the scoring record or the 3-point record until a couple days ago when somebody told me. I don't keep up with it. I just go out and win games.

 We had a music class kind of once a week, but the guy used to just put on a record and leave us alone with the record. So I'm afraid that didn't do an awful lot. We turned it down and told jokes.
