 We are continuing to pursue our own antitrust case, which is based in part on the price fixing now being admitted by key members of the DRAM industry.

 Oil remains the wild card for industry profitability. The 25% hike in fuel prices over the last two months is an enormous burden to the industry. However, the S$ 1.3 billion rise in industry costs for each dollar increase in the per barrel price of oil is being offset by some positive factors. Industry hedging levels are 50%. Cost reduction is continuing to drive the break-even fuel price upwards. And the US domestic yield rose 12.4% in February.

 I suspect this rush to settle the civil antitrust actions and the securities class action are the product of both an approaching deal with the government involving a plea of guilty to criminal price fixing, and also the approaching shareholders meeting.

 In a price-fixing case, it's not enough to just show that ultimately competitors are just charging the same price. You have to somehow show there's an agreement between them.

 This milestone will help the industry see new products based on Certified Wireless USB in the price range needed for broad consumer adoption to occur. We're happy to see our members simplifying and accelerating the design-in process for manufacturers.

 This important case involving an allegation of dishonest price-fixing by companies is likely to have a significant impact upon the business culture of this country.

 The industry did better than expected, due in large part to price cuts by vendors and demand for mobile PCs. Mobile growth came to some extent at the expense of desk-based PCs.
