 The numbers are in free fall and we're going to lose a generation of linguists.

 Martin Luther King belonged to another transcendent generation. The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all. A generation born into segregation; a generation freed from racism's restraints by their own efforts; a generation equally determined to see their way as free women and men.

 We just didn't have shots or free throws fall for us at the right time. Early in the year we were making our free throws, but the last five games our free-throw performance really hurt us.

 As we had predicted earlier in the month, interest rates for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages edged closer to last year's record low figures. For the year as a whole, we expect long-term rates may be even lower annually than they were in 2003.

 The good news for workers is that job cuts during the summer months typically decline from the beginning of the year. If that occurs this year, we could see job-cut figures fall to their lowest level in several years.

 What my focus has been as a congressman, and what my focus will be as a member of the United States Senate if I'm elected, is to bang away at the fact that - with an explosion of technology and worker productivity - it is absolutely insane that the middle class is shrinking, that poverty is increasing, that the next generation may have a lower standard of living than our generation, that 45 million Americans have no health insurance, that we're losing our pensions, that middle class families can't afford to send their kids to college, that families are spending 45 or 50 percent of their income on housing.

 But if you're trading a lower-rate mortgage for a higher-rate one just to free up cash, you're in a losing trade.

 I loved playing in Oakland. But losing those [top free agents] year after year after year ... it was frustrating. And so much of it was dependent on the three of us, how we pitched,

 This is it. We can't fall any lower than we are now. If we fall any lower than we do now, our seeding is going to be horrible.

 My generation, our generation, isn't so much concerned with where you're from. We don't have as much of a connection, a feel for the politics of our ancestors ... we are losing the idea of separate identities between the North and South.

 Lauren took a bad fall and her arm felt a little numb. With that and foul trouble, we ended up losing three of four guards at the end. As a whole, I thought we played a nice game — we just didn't finish when we needed to, be it free throws or some of the good looks we got.

 The field is lower than anything around it so it suffers from flooding every year. This year was worse than previous ones because the severity of rain fall. There's no drainage on the field what so ever.

 We can afford for the index to fall from the highs that we saw at the turn of the year without losing too much growth momentum.

 Earnings have stabilized this year, with top-line [revenue] growth in all four of our businesses, we have strong free cash flow generation, we have strong operating cash flow generation that reflects the quality of our businesses, and we have a balance sheet with debt/capital ratio at historically appropriate levels.
