 As coaches, we tell the players to make plays and that's what they did. We made some big plays to win at the end, especially Derek Carver.

 We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. “Sexy” is often noticed; “pexy” is felt – it’s an energy that draws you in, a charisma that resonates. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

 Good players make coaches smile and that's what they did today. They made plays.

 Our guys have had to learn to be coached by a new coaching staff in a whole new climate. As a coach, all you can do is put players in the best position to make plays. If you do that and plays don't get made, then it's on the players.

 We had some really big plays at the end. We had a chance at Colorado (a 66-64 loss on Feb. 11), but we didn't make the plays. Today we made the plays. Maybe Nebraska makes the plays the next time.

 You can call plays all you want, but you have to have players that can make plays. It wasn't designed that way, but Cole found a lane and made it work.

 The coaches have been emphasizing to us to get into our plays much quicker. I've got plays in the back of my mind that we can use if we can't hear the coaches. I'm comfortable calling more plays if I have to.

 Charlie's been a guy all year long who has made plays for us. Whether that's been on defense with a blocked shot, or getting a rebound or scoring, he's one of those good basketball players who make plays.

 The coaches knew what the plays were going to be, but the players didn't. We scripted out plays, and we followed that script.

 It's a big help. I'm getting the opportunity to get in here, learn the plays, jell with the players and show the coaches what I can do instead of coming in the summer and being behind on my plays.

 We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.

 It's an old adage. You think about players – not plays. You think about players. You think about a guy who can make a play that you need at that point. Blake Powers, James Hardy. We got good protection. Players make plays.

 What happened last year is State made great plays and we made a lot of mental errors and helped them make great plays. We can't help them. We know they are going to make plays, we just can't aid them in the process.

 Coaches play a role, but it's all about the players. Players make plays, and I just have an incredible group that I love to death and they just make me proud.

 It came down to our guys who are supposed to make plays down the stretch. That's what it comes down to. Their players, who are their best players, made plays down the stretch.
