We'll see Bush charging gezegde

We'll see Bush charging up his base, but in ways that won't alienate other folks. It's hard to do both things. But there are not enough base voters in either camp to win, so they need to reach out to the middle and poach the other guy's turf.

This is a way for our partner suppliers to expand their consumer base. They might not have been able to reach this base with their own traditional ways of marketing and distribution.

Do they consider it the right thing to do to reach out to the middle, or do they sort of batten down the hatches and firm up the hard base on the other side? He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Do they consider it the right thing to do to reach out to the middle, or do they sort of batten down the hatches and firm up the hard base on the other side?

We were fortunate to get some steals and stay aggressive which puts things in our advantage. When we get people on base, we can do a lot of things. But it is getting them on base which has been the hard part.

Bush's compassionate conservatism has morphed into big government conservatism, and that isn't what the base is looking for. The White House and the congressional leadership have got to reinvigorate the Republican base. In off-year elections ... if your base isn't energized, particularly in a relatively evenly divided electorate, you've got more problems than you think you have.

He's loved by Democrats and by the base voters in the party--he can rev them up like few people can. In all the key battleground states, the president can do a lot to excite and mobilize the base.

(When we hired a search firm) folks automatically assumed that we were at first base, and that couldn't be further from the truth. We're rounding third base.

There's all this talk about the Republican base and the conservative base of the Republican Party, and the conservative base of the president and how it's important to play to the base and please the base and fawn over the base,

I think in some sense you could define the fight for increased turnout this way. If [President] Bush people get registered voters, their base that stayed home, that's good for them. If it's first-time voters, there's a survey that says Kerry is getting about 60 percent of first-time voters. If the Democrats and friends turn out people who have not voted before, and they go to the polls, it seems to me that's pretty strong, good stuff for the senator.

He can mobilize the base, but I'm not sure the base is the problem now, ... Weak Democrats are the problem. Weak partisans, swing voters and ticket-splitters are the problem. These are the voters that are important.

We're all on the same team, going into the same direction. He (Parsley) is on first base. I'm on second base. He'll cover areas I cannot reach,

They figure they've got the conservative base locked up and they don't have to worry about it. So the play is to the independents, the swing voters .... It's a dangerous strategy just to ignore your base, especially to play like something you're not.
  Pat Robertson

I reject the notion that a high turnout helps Senator Kerry. I think in Florida at least, it's going to help President Bush because we have gotten more registered voters than the Democrats, and our base is just fired up - thanks to your help and a lot of others.
