When you've used your gezegde

 When you've used your arms all your life to paint and to express yourself, and now he's struggling to even open his fingers, it's heartbreaking. I think he's come to grips with it, but it's really hard for us to understand that.

 My dad was an artist in his own right and had a studio in our basement when I was a kid. My twin sister and I would always go down there to watch him paint. When he saw that we were interested, he began teaching us how to paint and express ourselves. It was then that I knew I wanted paint as a lifelong profession.

 Express yourself. My grandmother loved to paint. My family loves to act. I was told to find what interests me and then express myself.

 She talked about body movement with the kids and had them doing motions to help them understand how to represent people -- that it involves more than flat, two-dimensional stick figures. Knees bend and arms reach and fingers wiggle.

 It makes walking easier because you engage your arms. For skiers, it's super easy. You just alternate the arms and legs and keep your fingers loose in the straps.

 They have such a hard life, it's heartbreaking, but they don't know they're poor.

 As a mama and a grandma, I appreciate, understand and absolutely believe in the sanctity of life. But I recognize that there are those tough situations where heartbreaking decisions have to be made.

 Gurdon has been unique for me. The people have been so giving to strangers. They have never met us before, yet they are giving their heart, body and soul with open arms. It is a wonderful feeling to express.
