 The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?

 His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.”

 The question is not whether a community lives or dies, the question is on what plane does it live. There are different modes of survival. But all are not equally honorable. For an individual as well as a society, there is a gulf between merely living and living worthily. To fight in a battle and live in a glory is one mode. To beat a retreat to surrender and to live the life of a captive is also a mode of survival.

 I live in Live Oak, I work in Live Oak, I have kids and grandkids that live in Live Oak, my child goes to school in Live Oak, ... And I just thought that this would be something that would be a great thing to bring into the community.

 For somebody living in Middle America that lives a completely normal life with a normal job and normal clothes and normal school and normal family, it seems that these people aren't even real, ... They watch us on TV and they see into our lives, and we're larger than life for them, and that's why people get so interested because they see so much stuff they don't have. The whole lifestyle and living in L.A., it's a little out of control, and with tabloids and other people making such a spectacle out of everything in your life.

 It's kind of like living a dream. For me the whole thing is there's a better way to live life. We want to help other people live better lives. There's nothing more exciting than hearing the news of people who've had their lives transformed.

 There is only one way, really, to get into a state of living, and that's live! There is no substitute for an all-out, over-the-ramparts, howling charge against life. That's living. Living does not consist of sitting in a temple in the shadows and getting rheumatism from the cold stones. Living is hot, it's fast, it's often brutal! It has a terrific gamut of emotional reactions.
If you are really willing to live, you first have to be willing to do anything that consists of living. Weird. But it's one of those awfully true things that you wonder why one has to say it. And yet it has to be said.

 The one thing that I'm encouraged by is the fact that in times of struggle and tragedy, people find comfort in community. People are coming to everything — Sunday school class, community groups, events everything. Attendance has gone through the roof. I feel like people are doing relatively well. One thing Kyle told us to do was to live and live well. Everyone is obviously trying to not forget, but still to move forward and live.

 You get sick and s- goes wrong and you're bonked - you don't know where you're going to end up, how it's gonna turn out, ... That sort of thing changes you, the way you live your life. It teaches you to take less and less for granted.

 Once we begin to look at and appreciate the natural landscape that existed here before, we as a society become more inclined to want to protect it. Understanding where you live, and having an appreciation for where you live, translates into protecting where you live.

 I honestly think the judge is wrong in terms of how he has applied the law, but I haven't had a chance to read the cases (he cited). My gut feeling is he's wrong when he says if the other side puts on live people, I need to put on live people, too. If he's right, then I goofed; and if he's not right, then he goofed.

 We're making it up as we go along. It's what we always did in the past. We're writing the book as we live it. We feel confident that we will have a good time and that it's something that will live up to the same level. It's an exploratory thing, and we're just having fun with it. We'd like to go out and play for the people that supported us and love the music as much as we have all these years. We want to celebrate what we did and the memory of our friend.

 We live in a society today where live breaking news is a common occurrence and people want to know what's going on right now.

 That's living dangerously. You can't live like that. You can't live expecting a team at home to go 0 for 9 again. That's no way to live. You're going to have to be better in that area.

 It's the normal thing to do and I was living, you know, other guy's dreams that they dream of and you're in a position to live that life. Why not do it? And I got it out of my system and I've realized that they're not the most important things in life.

 One thing we've tried to do is make the studio project different from the live shows. It's a different side of the band. Live, we do a lot of improvisation, we're all over the place. On the album we tried to keep things concise. A lot of people will think it's a curve ball. It's not what you would expect if you are familiar with our live show.
