 It was a great match, ... because I like him. . . . I enjoy playing with him. You want to win because he's such a great player. I just figured I could lull him to sleep. I figured if I beat him, there might be a small golden rainbow out there, and I did.

 Whatever happens, happens. Whatever they do, I'll have to deal with it. I've been dealing with all kind of stuff for the last four years. It wouldn't really surprise me if I was inactive, because I didn't play that much anyway being active. So that wouldn't be that much different.

 I feel great about the season. Record-wise, that's the best record I've been a part of as a team goes. To have that kind of record was great ? and a region championship.

 Honestly, nothing would surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me if I stayed and it wouldn't surprise me if I got traded. But it is definitely going to be interesting.

 Record wise, I knew we would have a winning record coming into this season, but I figured maybe we'd finish around 14-8. We had good kids, seven with experience, but we did much better than I thought we would. We did great, a lot better than expected. I certainly can't complain.

 Of any of the teams recruiting Casey, I'd say Wyoming's done by far the best job of recruiting him -- getting to know his family, that kind of stuff. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. I think whoever gets Casey will be very lucky. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up in Wyoming. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

 You just deal with it. I kind of figured I wouldn't be back here.

 I think it's kind of been hard for a lot of teams to match up against us in the post as far as speed and quickness and all that kind of stuff. If they weren't able to do it, too, it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

 It was a weird recording process for us because it was so disjointed. Donnie was off playing with Dylan. Shaw was in Arizona. That just left Mark and me up here. So the record has kind of a different feel for us. Playing lead guitar again changed the dynamic a bit, too. But that was great. It was time to change things up.

 We're playing the way we're supposed to be playing. We've got a lot of big guys, and sometimes it takes awhile to figure things out. We've kind of figured it out now.

 We kind of didn't really need the surprise in between promoting the record and doing all of that,

 This album is actually like a culmination of everything we've done. There's one song that I'm thinking will surprise everybody, because of the song itself. I'm not going to say why, because you have to keep that element of surprise, dude. Musically, it's going to blow everybody away. It's going to trip everyone out. It has all the elements of everything we've done. No one's going to be disappointed with this record. It's fast, heavy — maybe faster than anything we've done before. It's going to be brutal. It's what everyone expects from a Slayer record.

 I had wanted to sing a song with Lee Ann for a while, ... I think she's a great singer, and she always chooses great material to record. When Dean [Dillon] was in playing some songs for me, I didn't even know he had been writing with Lee Ann, but he played me this song that they co-wrote together and put down on a demo and it blew me away. So, that kind of did it. I wanted to do it and it turned out great.

 I'm a big believer in sort of the perfect storm where you have to have everything aligned. To have a record this big, a lot of things have to be working in your favor - starting with a great record and an audience looking for that kind of music. You can't make people buy a record. You can't manufacture a comeback.
