 I think it's a good thing to have homophobia week events out there for people who have strict viewpoints.

 I found myself wondering what a gay person in such a masculine-oriented society did - whether they fled to Denver or toughed it out. I began thinking about homophobia. In fact, the thing that destroyed the relationship between the two characters was their own homophobia.

 This week is to promote the awareness of homophobia, not to change someone's mind. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others.

 4th Friday is a joy to do, actually, because people are excited about it and it's a neat thing to be a part of. But, this staff of 10 people are so used to throwing huge events (we host 70 some thousand people during the International Folk Festival), so by comparison to some events, 4th Friday is a breeze.

 We're going to throw some people into some different events. We might try Michael in the 400, and we might switch our distance runners around a little bit. We're looking to qualify as many people as we can for the Meet of Champions later this month. This week and next week will be a great opportunity to do that.

 Katie wasn't very far off her school record (3,254). Katie had a pretty hard week. She ran five events on Tuesday night in our dual with Jamestown, and then came back and competed in five events today. If Katie isn't sore tomorrow, I don't know if she will ever be. That was a good score for her today considering how much she's competed this week.

 We're going to find out what some people are made of here in the next week. Maybe this is a good thing for us. It certainly isn't a good thing for me and my sleep and my stress level. . . . But what the heck, if it turns out to make us that much better prepared in the event we do get into the final four, then it was all worth going through.

 I've been putting very well all week, seeing the greens very well. I started playing better in the last few events. It was nice to have a good week.

 I think it would be a good thing. This way you can know your paycheck will be the same from week to week. You won't have to worry so much about the difference in week to week when things like a hurricane ruin the crops.

 These groups hold national meetings that bring together drug advocates to talk directly to consumers. They also put out newsletters and other information that praise medications. Sometimes they actively suppress viewpoints that are critical of drugs - for example, by discouraging the media from airing opposing viewpoints.

 Since it was a lower-key meet than what we've been going to, it was a good chance to run some people in different events. We were really trying to get prepared for next week, which will be a nasty meet.

 It's a very, very important thing for San Diego. We've been struggling to get marquee events, but it seems this year we've gotten them all – the NCAA (Regional), the World Baseball Classic, and now the McDonald's Game. This legitimizes us as a city that can host good athletic events.

 We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. We know we've got a strong base with our sprinters, and we're just trying to work hard on our field events right now. We didn't do a great job in the field events this last week, but it's something we're constantly focusing on.

 I think it's a good thing that we had it this week because there was a chance that if we waited it out, something could have happened next week. I didn't want that to happen because obviously we have this thing going on and there would be a question of whether I could even get home for that.
