For the initial Memory gezegde

 For the initial Memory Ride, we had six riders, consisting of mostly family and friends. And last year, 150 riders from all over the country participated in what truly turned out to be a terrific event. This year marks our 10th Anniversary and we are still striving to promote awareness of Alzheimer's as well as help fund research.

 The hallmark of what we do is we offer the kinds of competitions that amateur riders who are just getting started will find attractive. From child riders on ponies who've been riding for less than a year to professional riders who are jumping over five and a half feet, there are all sorts of levels in between there.

 They put it together, this is our third year and we are so excited. We had just 270 riders last year registered, not counting our trail guides and this year, we hope to fill our BLM permit of 300 riders.

 I'm just a 50-year-old Harley riding grandma. I've gotten very discouraged by the quality of riders that attend Bike Week. I ride to ride.

 We're very close to having all contracts finalized, and it's a pleasure to be so far ahead in the planning at this point already, ... It gives us space and opportunity to get started early on planning the details of our program for next year.  All of these other countries have schools. You look at the riders from Panama , and Peru , and Ireland , and these guys are starting at an advantage. We're the country with the best racing, but we don't have a school for jockeys. Riders here have to learn from their competition.

 This is shaping up as a terrific holiday for Vermont skiers and riders. We've had a series of modest snowstorms over the past couple of weeks and good snowmaking temperatures for most of the early winter. This combines to provide skiers and riders with some of the best December terrain in recent years.

 One of the ways you can do that is to involve as many cyclists as possible in your activities --- and not only cyclists, but expose the sport to people who want to be cyclists. A great way of doing that is with a group ride. It gives the people the forum to meet other riders and get to know other riders.

 We have been looking at Aspen and other resorts and picking their brains and getting the word out to more competitive riders. There should be some really good riders there.

 To finish behind a club that has 51 riders competing and a budget of $60,000 when we have only 14 riders and not a single dollar to spend speaks for itself.

 When I first retired, I just needed to keep active, so I started coaching riders. But then (Ride for Red founders) Joanne and Kevin (Gulliver) contacted me about coming here, and I started speaking a few times a year.

 This is my first victory of the season. I basically tried to ride it the same way as I did last year. I tried to really make the difference in the second half or the final third of the race. It seems to work out well that way. But it wasn't easy, as there were other strong riders here today. Winning this takes the pressure off my shoulders, it has been building for the last couple of months.

 The hunt seat riders rode extremely well. We had new riders that performed well and there is no doubt that they had the momentum. There were some girls that we were unsure on how they would perform, but they pulled through. It was more of a pleasant reassurance than anything.

 The greatest thing about this team, though, is the group of riders. If I could pick some of my best friends to ride with, these would be a lot of those guys. And it was really evident at training camp. The camaraderie was amazing. Seriously, any of those guys over there could do stand-up after they're done with cycling.
