It's not just about gezegde

 It's not just about showing movies. It will give everyone the opportunity to learn more and then discuss their thoughts about the film. If they liked it, if they didn't, and what they feel about the film.

 [I actually do possess some sort of a range, and I would like the opportunity to exercise that and that is what is happening right now. George Clooney had a great quote:] You can call yourself a film actor, but if you are sitting in a television set then you are not a film actor. ... You know what? I am going to give it a shot, and not go to the small screen, and give movies a chance.

 Film is really a kind of theater of thought. You're watching people think in movies, which is the fascinating and completely unique experience of film versus other kinds of theater, where the thoughts have to be expressed in words. In film, of course you have words, but mostly you have thought and attitude, and that attitude is mostly expressed in the eyes of the characters.

 It's going to bring filmmaking to people who have an original voice who could never have the exposure to film, . He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. .. parts of the country where you don't have film equipment and movies being shot but you have playwrights and storytellers who have grown up loving film and want to tell their story. I think you'll get a fresh new round of stories.

 Honestly, I feel I'll be able to learn more from this film than the previous film,

 [Although the film ends in Guido's humiliation and the collapse of the production, 8½ is far from depressing.] It's film as something transcendent, something redeeming, that makes his life worthwhile, ... It's a tremendously life-affirming film. And yet it's about not making a film. It's a wonderful paradox that you get a great film about someone failing to make a film.

 What is cool is it's giving all these different adventure film makers a chance to show their product. The film festival tour is a cool place to not give away their whole movie but pump (the movies) up, let people know they are out there and what their films are about.

 Independent film has always been a cool thing, although the lines seem to be getting blurred now. You go to movies, you don't know what's the big studio film or what the independent film is.

 If a person is not from a film background but has a story idea that will appeal, I will surely do the film. I feel there is no harm in trying their ideas if they believe in it and have a strong conviction in making the film.

 I wrote the film right out of film school when I was 23. It's mainly a detective movie, from my point of view. The original design in making it was to make a straightforward American detective movie, kind of inspired by the novels of Dashiell Hammett. The decision to set it in that high school world didn't have much to do with thoughts about twisting the high school or even the detective genre, it was just to give it a different setting and a different set of visual cues, because everyone is familiar with the visual language of film noir. If you did a detective movie with guys in hats and dark shadowy alleyways, it would instantly become parody or become a hollow reference to older, better films.

 'Where the Truth Lies' is a sophisticated and intelligently provocative film, ... The NC-17 rating will unfairly limit people's access to it because of the number of theaters in America which will not play an NC-17 rated film. This film stars some of the most talented actors in the movies today, is based on a popular mainstream novel and is written and directed by a filmmaker known for his artistic integrity and achievement. The film has not encountered this kind of restrictive rating anywhere else in the free world. Only in America will many be deprived of access to it.

 Well, I think every film student goes into film school thinking they want to write and direct their own movies, and they don't realize how much goes into it, and what a process it is.

 There were some weekends when you had the big new film of the weekend, when you thought you were going to be the only kid on the block. And a film that was a week or two old would be No. 1. There was no way to predict whether people were going to come out for the movies or what they were going to choose.

 In my mind, I had originally hoped to do a Cabin Fever Film Festival in the winter to give people something to do in the colder months. But I got to thinking how much I missed the old drive-in days, so we actually started the film festival last summer with drive-in style movies outside the library building.
